Extended Battery?

Has anyone purchased the extended battery for this unit. If so, did it make a significant difference for you. Also, where did you purchase it from?

This is one to get and it's well worth it:

Caution--the plastic housing that comes with it is prone to be easily scratched. Spray a coat of clear lacquer on it, let dry overnight and it's good to go.

I thought it was big at first, but I went an entire day 3-4 hours of talking, bluetooth and wi-fi both on, the screen brightness cranked, and the backlight on the longest timeouts. Sure enough 30% left at the end of the day.

You need the extra battery like you need the headset, voice commander software, and the registry edits!

It's better for me to have two regular batteries (and switch if needed). I'm surrounded by USB ports all day long so I can get a charge anywhere. The big battery makes it a pain to keep the phone where it usually is, in my pocket. Also the phone looks WAY cooler with the regular battery in it!

What case are you using? I purchased the extended battery and have to agree with you. I also purchased the aluminum extended case to go with the unit. I just can't decide if I like the case or not. Thanks for your feedback.

Same thing, aluminum case with the cutout for extended battery. I love the case for when I'm on a job (onsite IT consulting) and my phone is either in one of my equipment or tool cases and I'm using the headset most of the time, in that case the extended battery is great too!

But, any other time the case, and extended battery are way way way too annoying.

IMHO you gotta have both and use based on the situation (especially if you have a job like mine AND also use the phone for personal calls say on the weekends at a club or bar or something).

I use the stock case that came with the phone. It's snug with the fat battery but works OK.

I use the extended battery now, and just keep the stock battery and cover somewhere safe in case I might need it later. There's so much I can do now with this battery from playing games, reading pocket bible and going to sleep at night without even charging it, and waking the next day with at least a 40-30% batt power.

I use the vertical design Verizon PDA blue pouch with the belt clip and a top snap that really secures the phone and doesn't feel heavy around my waist. I never worry about battery power at all.
