skipping Voice mail password on XV-6700
Squinting at the mirror-like screen of my trusty Verizon VX-6700 while driving and almost killing myself trying to enter my voice mail password, I found a way to automate that.
Under the speed dial function you can edit the #86 to:
#86ppXXXX# (XXXX = your voice mail password)
Now, when the VM lady asks for the password, I can keep a steady eye on the road while some quick beeps act as the password.
The "p" is the dialing symbol for pause. Don't know if this works on all Verizon phones.
Big props to Jason at Verizon customer Service. This took about 40 minutes to figure out, but he stuck with it.

Geez I never would have figured this out. What an interesting find..THANKS!

You can also type in your own phone number instead of #86.
xxx-xxx-xxxxppxxxx#
This way you are dialing your own number waiting the time then it enters your voicemail passcode.
Since your are a verizon, sprint, whoever customer the call is FREE!!!

Works great if I have the sound on, but if phone, and pda are both set to vibrate, which is typical for me. I still have to avoid suicide while driving to touch type the password in....
Any takers for the challenge, is there a setting to adjust to enable this in vibrate? 😕
