Just got this phone
Hi!
I just got this phone today and am currently charging it. I was wondering how long the phone usually takes to charge and also whether the status light should be blinking red while charging?
The phone is fresh out of the box and is not powering up at all, even when on the charger. I was wondering if that was normal.
Thanks

Not normal they unit ships with a partial charge on the battery enough so that it can be set up before fully charging, but even if the battery did not come with a partial charge you should be able to power up if on your charger. Something definatally sound amiss.

I'd try charging via the USB cable to your laptop or desktop to verify there is or is not a problem with the AC adaptor and/or charging stand. Once connected for charging and if you still don't see the amber light, perform a soft reset (while still connected).

Oh yeah... You probably already did this but it could also be a simple as your battery not being seated properly. Remove it and reload it taking care that it's seated securely.

I ended up taking the phone back in 2 days because it wasn't holding a charge. I got a brand new phone, no questions asked, within the 15 day Worry Free Guarantee and the new one holds a charge a little better (but not a lot). I pretty much keep the phone on the charger constantly. Other than that, I love the phone!

My phone will keep a charge for almost 24 hours. I use it alot, mostly email, internet and texting some actual phone calls but they are short. If I use the WIFI it does suck battery down. Also if you keep a lot of programs running at the same time your battery will go faster. Have you tried magic button? it is a great FREE program that lets you see what program are running on the top bar of your screen and also when it is running if you close something it really closes. Just thought I would try to give you a couple pointers. Also try keeping your back light down to at least half when on battery power.
