press and hold both soft keys (ones on the front of the phone with "-" signs on them) and while holding both keys use your stylus to push reset button on the bottom of the phone. This will do a hard reset erasing everything and putting phone back to orginal.
...
though this is true - it will not erase your phone number assignment; ESN, etc.
I called sprint, the way to do it is
dial
##786#
hit "reset"
"ok"
if it asks for an unlock code
you have to get it from Sprint customer
service technical support - its set
by the manufacuter I was told, she
gave it to me after verifying who I was.
Hope this helps others!

Just curious does sprint use a sims card? I have always had verizion and they do not use sims cards. (under the battery). When I first got my VX6700 I tried a lot of different software and did a bunch of reg hacks all at once (no soft reset inbetween) I know not a smart thing but I do that some times...LOL. Anyways I ended up doing a hard reset and it did wipe EVERYTHING. I had to call costomer support (from a landline of course) to get mine working again. Maybe it was a fluke or it has something to do with the sim card holding info?

Sprint uses CDMA phones which do not use sim cards.
