XV 6700 stays in sleep mode even with recent ROM upgrade

After purchasing the XV6700 from Verizon and getting the Rom upgrade, I still experience the dark screen of dead (DSOD) 😕 😕 , I wonder if I had to do a Hard reset after installing the Rom upgrade or what? Has Anyone experience this problem, what are your solutions, please advice. TIA

Have you tried holding the the power button for over 2 seconds?

Yes, I had as many others have posted, if you remove the SD card the phone wakes up or with a soft reset as well, it has to be another solution...thanks for your reply though...
