4gb miniSD and 6700 compatibility?
I am wondering if anyone knows if the 6700 is compatible with the new 4gb miniSD cards.
These will be the first miniSD cards using the new standard which brings SD cards "SD/mini/micro" from the FAT16 based file system which is limited to a max size of 2gigs to a FAT32 based filed system which will allow much larger sizes all the way up to 32gigs and possibly beyond.
What I would like to know is whether the 6700 can at present read a 4gig miniSD card. Has anyone tried?
If it can...then I'll likely pick one up so I can fit all my GPS maps and programs onto a single card. Otherwise I'll stick with my 1gig. (It is quite possible the 6700 could later be updated via firmware to read the new SD file system and utilize 4gb+ miniSD cards.)...

I am pondering the same question.

Yes it will. There is no max for the 6700.
I plan on picking one up soon.

Are you sure? where did you hear this?
That would mean it already supports the new standard (which is a possibility)...

I kinda miss having a 6700. I may pay outright to get one.

We'd love having you back chocolateman!. I still can't even imagine using another device for my phone/PDA. However, if I was ever gonna change, I would probably go to a Treo. There are just too many more limitations with a SmartPhone compared to a PocketPC/Phone.

not sure where you got your information, but i know it WILL NOT WORK, because I've tried. I used a 4GB SDHC card (Transcend brand) and it couldnt read it at all. the card works with the SD adapter in my digital camera, so i kno the card is good. if you figure out how to use it, please let me know!
