Software update is out
YL02 was released for the phone and you can update it over the air. There are rumors of a software update fixing the picture mail issue. I am assuming there is another one coming as this one did nothing for the "Data channel not enabled" error and that is what the update is supposed to fix. There were rumors of one being released in mid December, not sure if this was it or if there is another coming.

I am not sure what else it covered but the software update has improved the connection between my A900 and the handsfree link in my car. There are still some bugs but at least now I can make calls via the bluetooth link.

It takes a while. Just let it run and keep checking on it as it asks for a confirmation after it downloads the updater.

Hi, thanks for the info. I did the update and my phone wouldn't go to the internet nor send any text. Maybe the tower was down. But when I was updating it asked for a proxy ID and password. Did you get that? I am afraid to update because I don't want to be on the phone with Sprint forever like I was on Friday. I just hope and pray that Sprint will get themselves together with this phone.

I haven't gotten the proxy request, but many other users have. www.sprintusers.com forums have a lot of good info.
Basically, all phones are experiencing these problems, but unfortunately it's yet to be determined whether these are handset issues or Sprint network issues.
Supposedly, there will be another update available on 12/15, but we will have to go to the store where they can "force" the update. This phone is so buggy, I have no idea which issue it will fix... the menu lag, the picture mail problem, the screen freezing... who knows?!
I guess we'll have to wait and see. At worst, the phone will be recalled and replaced.

I am at the point to where I want to send this phone back. Now I can't get any pictures. This is really crazy. Sprint is really getting me hot! I might just take the phone back and just wait to see if the problem will be resolved! I hate wasting my time. When was the new "update" surpose to be?

I feel your pain. Unfortunately, the picture mail problem is very common with this and other Power Vision phones. The update is supposed to be released tomorrow, but that is, of course, speculation.

Okay so it's not just the A900. Don't get me wrong I like this phone. But people shouldn't have headaches over it. Sprint needs to stop being so slow on things and really get this phone where it needs to be. Why have a cute phone and it doesn't work? I tell you! I hope they fix it before they send a shipment to Radio Shack and all to the Sprint stores. Thanks for the info đ

I know what you mean. I think Sprint just rushed it out for the holiday season without fully testing it. Like you say, I just hope they fix it soon because I really like this phone, too.

I see my picture is acting up again. So I hope that at that time they were in the process of upgrading the software. Has anybody upgraded yet? My friend went to the Sprint store and they don't even have the technical equipment for this phone yet. I hope and pray that the upgraded software will come out today. As for as battery life, I have no problems. I surf the web and other things and my battery life is very good.

I tried this and it gives me "Error 1012: Cannot prepare Vision services," even though I can access the web just fine. It also gives me this error when I try to update my Vision profile.
I was on the phone with tech support today for nearly an hour and they are stumped... after trying a million different things, my web doesn't work now and I still can't do the update because of the error 1012.
Anyone else have anything similar? I suppose I'll check on Sprint Users, too.

Samsung pulled the update (I guess there were issues with it).
The 1012 error means "There is no update available at this time". I don't quite understand why they don't just have it say "There is no update available at this time"

The new-and-improved update should be ready in 1-2 weeks. Just keep trying the software update and one day it will actually do something.
I've heard around message boards that it was supposed to be on the 17th of Dec, but so far nothing.

I have owned this phone for 3 days so far. I get the same error message. I hope the update help the system run more smoothly đ and save the battery.

Thanks for the heads up! I upgraded my software this morning. So what exactly is the new upgrade going to do? Does anybody know how to change the visual effect to the streaming bars on the external screen, it is possible because I have seen it. Please help thanks.

Just updated the software and this version is YL10...so they've definitely done another upgrade. We'll see how this works out.

this software update seems to work i did mine as soon as it came out a few days ago and the battery life seems to have improvrd a little and some of the functions work better
