Sync with Outlook??
If this is repetition...sorry in advance.
I'm ready to pick up the A900...it seems like a great phone overall, but no one seems to know if it has sync capability.
If anyone has any first hand experience or knowledge about this please let me know!
Thanks again!

There will be software released soon that will allow Outlook/Palm Desktop syncing
...
Who will be releasing the software? Bitpim I have never used but it looks like a hacker tool vs. user friendly software, FutureDial is expensive and I don't see any sign they will be releasing anything soon...
Very surprised that this phone, with all its features, doesn't have software included for PIM transfers to the phone. Great to have 500 contact potential... who has the time/patience for manual entry? Maybe should be going with a blackberry/8700c and Cingular EDGE.

Check out www.susteen.com. Some may have already heard of them but they do make software for more handsets then Futuredial. I did call Futuredial and they said they didn't support the Samsung A900, A940 or the Sanyo MM-9000.
When I called Susteen, the girl looked up all three of the above handsets and said they were all slated to have software. She said it is typically 4 - 6 weeks after they're posted internally.
Just an FYI for those of you who like me think it's stupid to have all these great phones and not be able to sync with your contact management software.

Thanks much. I wonder if Susteen will synch with ACT! or not. I don't use Outlook.
Totally agree with you. We have phones that ship with live t.v. capability but no PIM synch? They're practically BEGGING you to buy a Blackberry instead. They're market would open much wider and I'm still thinking about returning this cool Blade phone just so I can avoid the hassle factor. I already have my Blackberry working beautifully with ACT!.

With a Bluetooth adapter (Kensington) and the WIDCOMM stack I was able to highlight all my contacts in Outlook and send them via bluetooth to my 900.
I still haven't gotten calendar entries to work.

I have my contacts in Act!, but presume if I toil long enough I'll find a way to import them into Outlook for the transfer.
Is Bluetooth essential for the transfer that you describe? The USB cable that ships with the phone won't suffice?
What is WIDCOMM?
Thanks much

You have to use Bluetooth for this to work. I know it doesn't seem logical but there is no other simple way. You can get a bluetooth tranmitter from just about any electronics store just make sure it uses BT 1.2 or higher or the contacts will only go over 1 at a time. The one I bought is a Kinsington model 33348 which was $40 at Best Buy. Once you have everything installed pair your phone with your computer and make sure the phone is connected. Then in outlook highlight all of your contacts, hit File and then "Send to Bluetooth" and then select the phone. When you do this make sure that your phone is open and you are at the main screen. After you hit Send on the computer a message will pop up on the phone saying a device is attemping ...
