Cingular rejected phone
a rep at a cingular store told me that the phone was cancelled for cingular and that they had to send all the dummy phones back along with the promotional material...guess its a good idea to buy one unlocked on ebay now!
...
why would cingular reject this phone? the V3 is like 2.5 years old 😳
...
I just found out it was rejected as of the 8th. The info on mobiletracker is from mid-june. I heard its been dropping calls like crazy. Might as well, buy it from the net if you want it...

Interesting info...but how do you account for the two postings today by people claiming to have bought the phones in Atlanta and San Antonio? If so, then it's not dropped obviosly.
Can you reconcile that with what you heard?
...
I'm going to give him a call later today to clear it up. I will post updated info either tonight or tomorrow. I hope its being released in the New York City area...

I hope i can find out what cingular that guy bought his at in the San anotonio city area.....Ans P.S. I dont think they rejected the phone....it would sell so well considering the success of the first one which is still going relatively strong....and i think the will probably keep the first one for a cheaper alternative with the smae look.....

This is complete nonsense. No basis in fact, and just stupid mutterings. The phone is slated for release by the end of July. Bank on it.

I went to cingular wireless dealer july 23,2006 at sunday, he said they have by next week.

As of yesterday, they still had the display phones at the mall here in Madison, WI, although he didn't have an exact sale date.
I would be surprised to hear they have a lot of probs with dropped calls, as I've been using a V3i on Cingular for months now and almost NEVER drop a call, in fact I drop less calls with this phone than any other phone I've ever owned on Cingular. NOw, who knows what firmware version they've put on it, and how much they've hacked it up, but with my firmware (R47A..67R) it's rock solid!

The phone has been pushed back sometime now due to a few issues, non phone related. The biggest issue is the fact that Cingular has tons of the original razrs still in stock and now the blue one. No reason to bring out this new one if the old ones are still selling like hotcakes!
Latest push back date was Aug 8th...or sometime around there.
Remember what I have posted before...no carrier has ever released a "release date" EVER! Carriers need to negotiate with the manuf to settle on a price...then produce it, in the meantime draw up promotional things for it, stock the phone...then sell it...it will be out..later then "expected" but will be out!
...
This makes a ton of sense due to that fact that the old razr is so out of date!!! Why wait for this phone when better models will also be available. Take the razr K1 better camera smaller phone and edge. When this phone is released it will already be obsolete. 🤣
