It's a fashion phone. It's designed to be a phone you can take out for the night when you want something stylish, but it might not be your "day phone". That's one reason it has an easy-to-access SIM card slot right on the side - so it's easy to switch phones.
You could use it as a main phone, though. The display is full-color and it has most of the features of a regular phone.
The scroll wheel is the weird part, but it's fairly well executed. It's a real wheel that actually spins. It actually makes it pretty easy and quick to scroll through your contacts, call history, etc. It has extensive voice control, too.

the 7280, although not liked by all, was a VERY popular phone with Nokia. it sold oout very quickly, and was featured in J.lo's "get Right" video. You may not like the phone, but others will. the only prob i see is the color, it will drive away the fellas i think.

I'm a guy and I find this phone attractive in it's unusual design. However, I couldn't see myself with this phone because the coloring is a bit feminine for my tastes and text messaging would be a nightmare. (I can't stand T9 on regular keypads, much less a scroll wheel)

i've worked with 2 millionares and they don't have a "day" or "night" cellphone. That's crazy. 😲 And about the scroll wheel nokia probably like the ipod clickwheel and applied it in the phone.

just because you worked with two milionaires, doesnt mean that the milions of other people in that bracket dont have a day and night phone either. also, if they took ipod's scroll, then they took it. again, with the 7280, it was there, and that phone sold very well.
