They claim it is due to their in depth testing...if that is the case why so many bugs in their phones?

Rmember the E815? took months and months to be released and then the entire shipment had the wrong software.
After that the phone had several other issues, mainly build quality.

Either Phone Scoop lets the cat out of the bag WAY TO EARLY, or the carriers really have no idea what they are doing with regards to testing.

I hate to say this because you know I like new toys and I have been waiting like everyone else for the Q..

My friends in VZW have their Q's and have been testing for a few weeks.. The word is they are not happy at all..

The Cumbersome interface makes it impossible to use the phone. He told me tonight that dialing on it is horrid and you tend to make alot of mistakes.

The job wheel thing he complains is silly and depending on the app or page you are on, it's nearly impossible to control.

I am very very dissapointed.. The voice quality and speakerphone were decent as the new Moto's have improved and they do sound better but the overall design and usability stinks.

So with my 710 settlement ($487.50) i have til 6/6 to get a phone, i was ready to load up the RAZR yesterday with the Phone, RAZRWires & Bluetooth Package - then i got word the Q would be out 5/22.

Any suggestions on what i should do - will this phone be worth waiting for til 5/22?

I have a mac, will syncing and bluetooth (crippled?) even work for me?

Does anyone know why Cingular would not pick up this phone? I really don't want to switch carriers but am dying to get my hand on this Smartphone. Is it possible Cingular eventually will have the M-Q to offer?? Thanks...

I learned this afternoon from a reliable source within VZW that May 30th is the official launch date. You should be hearing from VZW via press release shortly.

Just curious if/when this phone will be available via VerizonWireless? My phone is almost 2 years old, and this looks like a promising replacement.

Our B2B vzw rep brought in a Q that a tech is testing, and it is awesome! this thing makes my 9 month old samsung 730i look old school, and very bulky! his release date "guess" was end of 3rd first of 4th...

From this, and a couple other boards I visit, it appears as if interest/traffic has diminished a great deal.

Folks are universally tired of the waiting. Whatever the reasons, the excuses can only take VZW so far.

If the amount of chatter around the net is indicative of interest, it looks like VZW may have sh!t in their chair.

Incidentally I was visiting a friend who had moved to a more metropolitan area a year or so ago. He immediately switched carriers, and "have never looked back". He had a cool phone, inexpensive plan, rollover minutes, free nights starting at 7, mid-term contract upgrades WITHOUT contract extension, and on, and on. And it appeared the phone worked wuite well here...something that would not have happened a ye...

I'm just as anxious as the next guy to get this phone out, but here's what the CEO from Motorola just said on their call...And of course, before you ask me about Q, we are close. All I can tell you is we are in testing. I have been using it for four months -- several hundred people here at Motorola as addition to the carrier that is working with us to bring it to market. I think it's a great product. It is a cool device. I think it is going to define yet a new segment. It is way more than a smartphone. And stay tuned. We are close and hopefully we will see that very shortly. I know this doesnt help much, but given that vz will never say a thing, at least MOT will talk about it.

On wireless advisor forum a reliable source posted last week that the phone will be finishing testing next week and Verizon will launch in May.

Silly question - I'm really intrigued by this phone but not sure if I really "need" it. I do not need to access e-mail frequently for work. What would be the compelling reasons for owning this smartphone as opposed to a simple phone?

I noticed that most of the e-mail instructions in the user guide relate to server based Outlook synchronization for corporations.

I was wondering - can you simply use this phone effectively to check POP3 accounts (ie: Yahoo or Hotmail?)
If so - can you use "folders"? For instance, if my Yahoo account has "Inbox", "Saved", etc. can I effectively synchronize on a folder by folder basis (ignoring some folders, like "Bulk Mail") and get my messages to my phone?

If I do this - can it also be done in conjunction with server based exchange synchronization?

Had enough waiting for this phone - I switched to Cingular, got the 8125 and it is great! Highly recommend it.

Went through this waiting way too many times with Verizon for new phones to be released and refuse to do it again. So far, so good with Cingular (its been 25 days). They give you 30 days to try out the service - and with all this secrecy surrounding the Moto Q, I'm definitely making the switch. And reception has been just as good. Just my two cents 😛

I'm glad to see the renewed interest going around.

I have tried to keep my mind off of it, to the point that I actually tried to upgrade my phone on NE2. Perhaps thankfully, there has been a snag, apparently NE2 doesn't apply to all the numbers on a family plan...silly me. Reason number 287 to kick VZW to the curb, but it has created a delay while I migrate to a business account...that's the potential good thing.

Now, I have to wait to upgrade, and this latest renewal of info has pulled me back into the dark side. I'm still wicked frustrated with VZW, but I'm weak....and I still want this.
