I got to play with one of these at a data training seminar recently. Being that I'm not a huge fan of Motorola, I was very impressed! The display is crystal clear, the sound is amazing, and the ease of use?? Motorola may have a winner on their hands here! Very light and thin. Not much wider than the RAZR. I'm very excited for it to get released. They said they expect it to be released before the end of Q2. I'm sure it'll be out of my price range, but I hope to sell the heck out of them!!

I know I said end of April before... I got my info from a Moto rep... bad idea... should have known testing would take longer... and not to trust the manufacturing rep... new hopeful date I'm hearing is beginning of June... sucks, I know, but true... just watch and see if I'm wrong...

Does anyone know if it will be introduce in both colors for VZW?

Stopped by my local store during lunch today and ask about the Q, they told me that they didn't have a date but have been testing the phone since March and that they have been told to start a waiting list.

Does anyone have an idea how much the verizon Q will cost?

It is hard to be excited about the Motorola Q. The question is how much is Verizon going to screw it up? They usually do. I just received my paperwork for the V710 refund/settlement and remember the buzz when that phone first came out. Everyone was so happy that Verizon had Bluetooth. It was crippled and now, a year and 8 months later, Im wondering how bad they are going to screw this up. The Q looks great and Motorola makes pretty good hardware - but this is their first PDA style. Toss in the Verizon factor and we have a recipe for disaster.

If you notice the VZW website and look at the specials VZW are currently running, you'll notice that they are cleaning house with their LG5200s. Why? I bet a new LG phone is coming out. Anytime a new device is launched with VZW, they will offer BOGO deals like the ones VZW are offering now. Buy 1 phone get up to 3 free. What does this have to do with the Q? VZW keeps their phone releases under the table even to their own employees. As i stated in a previous thread:

This is literally all i can find after months of searching for information. So if this continues to be true, Expect to see the Q early June - possibly july. I hope i'm wrong.

On March the 21st the "Coming Soon" will appear on VZW.com The Online sales launch of the Q will be on 04-17-06, and the National Launch will be 04-24-2006!!!!!

The truth is in the name!!!!

I was dining out in the Schaumburg, IL area and while waiting for a seat I noticed someone standing next to me had the Q. Seemed thinner and lighter than the Treos and felt good. Screen looked great under the low lighting conditions. Didn't get to play with it but she seemed to acknowledge that it's still get some work to go. We're in the process of moving our messaging platform and to Verizon so it'll be a couple months before I'm in the market anyway. I'll be in the "Q" to get one.

How funny is this? You click on Motorola phones, and you see about 10 or 12 phones that have come out before the Q. VZW just sucks when it comes to phones. They know it, and don't give us that BS... We want to make sure the phone works right and not have bugs before we put it on the market. You guys screw it up even when it does hit the market. Just give us the phone, and we will make it work. Can you hear us now?? VZW customers. The most frustrated customers in the business.

I know in the past I've seen posts with links to the user manual for a phone, even before the phone is released (if I'm not mistaken - the user manual has to ready before testers can effectively test all of the functions)

I think I remember the User Manual for the v710 coming out months before it's release, and some clever person found it hidden on the Motorola website somewhere.

Does anybody know of any user manuals out there for this phone?

I'd like to read more about it so I can get the details on the features.

1. Does anyone know if it will have the video ringtone like the 700?
2. Does anyone know if the phone will have the "today screen"?

As most of you are probably aware, there is a company that makes a nify cable / software combo that allows you to use te Treo as a wireless modem at 3g speeds.

Does anyone know if this will likely be something I can do with the Q?

... talked to their Manager of Media Relations. I asked him to do his company and Motorola's carrier partner a favor and kill the rumors - when?!

BOTTOM LINE: The Q will be released for customers and businesses through Verizon Wireless by the end of April.

Call them yourselves ... 866-BUY-MOTO (ask for Manager of Media Relations).

No word on price, that's up to Verizon, but should be about $499 with 2-year contract.

I tested a beta version of the Q in early March ...

Do yourselves a favor and wait for it.

This is not meant as a threat, because I know the concerns of one little customer mean nothing to you.

It is more like a pledge.

I have had it with your ridiculously poor lineup of phones. Every other wireless company gets the new phones before you do. I must gaze enviously at the handsets of my friends on Cingular, T-Mobile, etc., with their RAZRs, SLVRs, and the like - LONG before VZW has something similar. You gypped us all by refusing to offer anything that mates with iTunes, despite its overwhelming worldwide popularity. Yeah, good call. Diss all those users. I'm not saying you shouldn't have looked at other formats, but that you should have been INclusive of the iTun...
