Samsung SGH-D807 / D806

i bought this phone online, upgrading from my motorola V557. the phone looked good, and i liked it so i ordered it, and didnt even think of reading customer reviews because they dont have any on cingular.com. After paying and ordering the phone i found this website and saw a lot of complaints about service. They do not have this phone in stores in my area. Is there a reason they dont? Does anyone have this phone in the CT area and if u do, how is is the service??

My wife and I both have a SGH-D807 and yesterday I was trying to send files via bluetooth to her phone; however, they would not. I was able to turn the bluetooth on on both phones; however, when I tried to send a file from my phone to hers - her phone would not ever pick-up that I was trying to send a file. It just worked the night before - any ideas what might have happened or how I can fix it? Thanks! 😕

i just got the phone recently and i don't see any place for a cell phone strap. i think they should of made it just like any other for with a place for a strap so people like me can accessorize it. is it only me or anybody out there can't find a place for it too?

Is there a way to pick your own sound and put it on your phone, to make that your text sound?

hello there, i hope you guys can help me out. i'm simply trying to change or turn off the beeping sound it makes when you press any of the top keys (send, end, clear, etc.). i've tried changing the 'keypad tone' but that's only for the bottom keypad (alphanumeric keypad, asterisk, etc.).

is it possible to be able to personalize that particular top keypad tone? i've fiddled with my phone to see if any changes can be done but i could not find an option for it. i've also searched the user manual but no hope there. maybe i missed it? please help!

Any one know of something i can download or a website where you can cut down your music files to be used as ringtones? Any suggestions will be helpful

My brother has a Razor with a different service provider. Using a blue tooth Laptop and some guidance from an online forum similar to this one, he was able to get inside the phone and customize it in pretty much any and every way he ever wanted.

He also discovered bandwidth controls that he could change to get faster internet (even though it EATS his battery) and a few other great surprises while searching around. Has anyone found any of these sorts of things for the D807?? I would love to get a chance to get in the phone and take a look around at options, but I need someone else's guidance hahaha. 😉

Hiii, I was wondering if anyone knew whether the 2gb microsd card would work and if so what brand?

I was also wondering if this phone has an option where if you're playing the video, can you put the display in landscape format? or full screen? Because my Lg Cu500 does,and i'm thinking about getting this phone.

Also, if I convert a video into .3gp or .mp4 format, will I be able to play movies on it?

Is it possible to turn off the phone antenna so that you're able to use the MP3 player on an airplane. I've heard you can do that on other phones but I'm not sure if it is possible on this one.

Is there a way to erase the recent recipients from the msg log. I work for a cell phone co and sometimes have to send txt to customers from my phone. And I would like to erase the #s and not have them in my phone. I have searched high and low. I actually work for a smaller regional cell phone co. and we dont have a lot of info on this phone as it was just released but of course i had to have it 🙂

does this phone have a picture phonebook like the razr does? thats my favorite feature about the razr

For the life of me I can't get these two to pair. I had them paired once before, but now when I attempt to send files from my laptop (which does recognize the cell) to my cell I get this error:

Error in pairing with device SGH-D807. Reason: Timeout occurred during pairing.

I have my cell set to discoverable but I have no idea what the PIN is. I've tried 0000 (four zeros) but that pin comes back invalid. Any ideas where I can find the PIN to pair these two devices?

I just got a SGH-s807 and i managed to put music on my memory card but when i try to play it on my phone a message, "Not Allowed" pops up. I just wanted to know if anyone new how to play music on the phone.

Just picked up the phone, everything is great. The phone/SMS integration is slightly wonky, but not too bad. I don't like the idea of needing to save everything to the SIM since there's no "dump everything to SIM" option. That's for contacts, though.

Is there a way to save SMS messages to the phone by default? The SIM has much less space than the phone, and very rarely do I want to keep an SMS on the SIM.

When I make a call I get an echo of a voice. It sounds like my voice from my voicemail its very strange! This always happens when I make an outgoing call!

I broke the screen on the phone.
everything still works.
just i cant see.

now i had it for more than 30 days
without getting any insurance.

now I'm stuck with a phone with a big black crack.
i love this phone.
but u cant do much w/o the screen.

can anybody tell me what i should do?

when i put a video or movie in my phone and try to play it its really lag can some one help me?

hey, I just got this phone yesterday, and it's great and I love it, I've never had a camera phone before. But shortly after I got it, these smudges started showing up on the camera: I wiped the lens off a good deal, and the still show, though you can see them less when you zoom in. This is quite annoying, because other than this I love the phone and would prefer not to take it back... anyone know what this could be/how to fix it? I will try to post pics, but I have to go now 😛

When I bought the phone, I really liked (and still do) the style/bright display/etc. Now, I find myself more and more annoyed that the earpiece volume is awful. The volume goes up to "5" and would be fine if it went to "10". People I call have a hard time hearing me clearly as well.
I switched my SIM card back to an old Nokia and couldn't believe the difference.

In short - looks great; performs terribly.

Love this phone but does anyone know why wallpaper images in the photo files won't allow me to show the whole image? They get cropped on the top and bottom on the screen after chosen. Some but not all of the images when chosen are prompted by a question (Set as wallpaper? standard ratio?) with a box to check for no, if you leave it unchecked the photo will fill the screen entirely, which looks very nice. Thoughts?
