Need to Upgrade - Leery of W810 - HELP !!!
I'm confirmed Nokia user but my two Nokia's are going to die pretty soon - AT&T can't seem to replace with like kind (6126 is OK but no FM - N75 too "busy")sooooo am interested in SE810 'cause me and Motorola don't get along.
BUT .....
... Coming from Nokia is UI going to be too strange?
... Keypad - looks awfully small and hard to get used to. True or no ?
... Another forum keeps mentioning dropped Calls and how to mod in order to fix (too much work)
... Several reviews refer to volume issues and the need to load new drivers to fix (too much work)
... RF and Call quality are top req's
... FM & Music player are next
... Addr Book / Calendar

I know how you feel. I love nokia. I was waiting for the Nokia 5300 till tmobile took it (no tmobile in my area and wanted it in purple) So due to the fact that my phone was being held by a rubberband and i was ashamed to have it while tryin to sell phones I got the w810. I love it. I love the music player, the memory, the camera. I do wish the speaker when I am talkin on the phone was louder (my boyfriend is a soft talker) and I do wish sometimes it did have faster internet, but I am not on there enough to really care. I love my w810i. Maybe more than my boyfriend.

The 810 is a great phone but to my knoledge you cannot use your mp3s as ringtones. You might want to consider a w200a, its a great little inexpensive phone that is very similar to the 810 with less internal memory. I broke my 810 and had to replace it and decided to try out an unlocked phone that we dont carry... save a little money 🙂.

It does uses mp3s as ringtone. The only downside is that it will start from the beginning of the song. It also allows you to send and recieve other people ringtones via bluetooth and infared.

You can use MP3's as ringtones. There's a ton of topics on this forum devoted to that.
If it's a cingular branded phone, you just have to edit down the mp3.
If it's debranded, you can use any mp3 as a ringtone regardless of the size.
