HTC 3125 / Smartflip / 8500 (Star Trek)

All of a sudden my corporate email automatically pushes to my phone without a send/receive. Previously, I would have to send/receive to get it - not anymore.

This never used to happen. Is it a new feature or a setting? Just curious.

Im happy it does this but strange how it never did it before. Oh well.

I've had two of these and they both have quit in a few weeks. I don't think I'll go for a third. The first unit worked fine for a few weeks then its reception dropped way off. The second turns off and not back on without repeated trying and it now is beginning to drop calls. I turn it off the on the get updates. I have pulled the battery. I’ve done it all. Just two bad phones.

I think the quality has suffered.

I just ordered this phone and I am wondering how much memory I will need to purchase.

I will be using it for corporate e-mail.

Can you manage e-mail on this phone differently than from your PC. For instance, I would like to only get new mail on the phone and be able to delete it from the phone without deleting it from the exchange server if that makes any sense.

Just wanted to let everyone know that Cingular has this phone until at least March 31st for $99.99 on their website. You have to pay $199.99 for it, but then they send you a Visa debit card worth $100, which you can most likely put back in your bank account. It does not mention having to have a data plan anywhere, but you may want to check first.

Up until yesterday, they had a rebate form on their website for the phone that did not have the phone listed on the rebate form! I wanted to order this for a relative (I already have one), and I called Cingular to let them know about the issue. I got a hysterical ring tone emailed to me on my phone, but all I can do is listen to it via Windows Media Player.

How can I save it to use as a ring tone???

Okay, I'm quickly running out of patience here.

When I sync this phone to my PC, the phone shows the times according to the time zone of the person who set the appointment, and not the time of the user of the freakin' phone. So if I'm in Chicago, and I have an 11am meeting with someone on the West Coast, and they set up the meeting, it shows up in my phone as 9am. My Outlook calendar on my desktop doesn't change.

Talking to someone at HTC made me think there is actually a setting for this somewhere, but I don't have the menu items to get there. Has anyone seen this sort of thing? Can anyone help? Is this thing just defective?

Has anyone had any problems with the phone getting hot. I put in a new micro sd card and now the phone gets very hot and drains the battery.

Perhaps a dumb question - but I can not find the option to Send a Calendar item. Under section 6.4 of the User Manual, it shows that option. I installed PocketInformant - would that take away that function? Thx

Is there any backlighting on the keypad/numbers on this phone?

If not, does the display light them up enough to dial in the dark?

Is there any possibility of this device being upgraded in the near future to include Wi-Fi and 3G? (wi-fi more importantly)
I'm debating between the 3125 and the 8525...if the 3125 had Wi-Fi and 3G, it would be all I could want.

Anyone in the know out there? Is there another device comparable to the 3125 that would include wi-fi and 3g?

What the devil is that little "E" above the signal strength on the phone. I know the big E for a service type thing, but I cannot figure the small one out.

Every since I set up XpressMail it has been up there?? Is it a problem or nothing to worry about??

Also... does this phone AUTOMATICALLY DISCONNECT from the internet when you hit the END button?

Has anyone had any luck unlocking the Cingular 3125 and using with an old AT&T sim? I'd like to hear if anyone's done this successfully before taking the plunge myself.

I have the HTC Wizard (MDA/8125), which uses Windows Mobile 5.0. I know there is a difference between 'PDA phone' and 'smart phone'... so is the Windows Mobile on the Star Trek different from that of the MDA? I know with some smartphones, you can't edit documents. From the terminology used here (Windows Mobile for Smartphones version 5?), I can't seem to get a grip on the OS or functionality of this device.

I'm considering this phone, and I'd like to use some of the pda features, but I'm a Mac user, and don't know if it will sync. I know of other phones that will by downloading special software, I'm hoping that's the case with this as well. Anyone with experience in this area?

trying to get my contact list to default to the category i pick say for example "business". Once you pick the category and go back to your contact list it goes back to "all contacts"
