HTC 3125 / Smartflip / 8500 (Star Trek)

Is their anyway to make the font bigger on the screen? having trouble reading the numbers. the razor i had previous could increase size so you can see very well

how do you set voice mail notifications to play the assigned sound more than once? my old phone would beep at intervals until i flipped the phone open. I do not check my screen that often so an intermittent sound notification would be nice. any advise is appreciate

I've owned the 3125 for almost a month, closing in on the 30 day CINGULAR exchange period. I really love this unit.

However, there are a few items that need a bit of refinement. First, the ring tone volume needs to be increased. Is there any method to accomplish this? Secondly, the alarm feature is downright pitiful. On the RAZOR, the alarm will "wake the dead and buried" and continues until you stop it. On the 3125, you get a ONE TIME ONLY feeble alarm tone. Can this be enhanced to serve more like a true alarm clock?

Can anyone tell me how to keep my 3125 from transfering data? Does it have something to do with the "E" icon on the main screen? Sometimes it's there, sometimes its not. Basically I want it off.

I've been doing lots of configuration and at some point a status icon appeared at the top of my home page. It looks like two circles joined by a line (i.e. o_o). At some times one circle is filled (i.e. Ӣ_o). The icon appears in the 3125 manual, but not in the list of icons. I can't find it anywhere on any web page, either. I'm guessing it's something to do with my recent bluetooth setup, but if it's a status indicator, I'd like to know what the heck it's indicating.

I got the 3125 2 days ago and have been very impressed with the features. Although Im curious as to whether the music from my windows media can be used as a ringtone? If so how do I do it? Thanks a lot.

well i have cingular 3125 and the other day i was searching for some games that i wanted to dl on my phone. but none of the games that cingular offer is compatible with this phone...wtf...-_-;
does anyone know where i can dl any kind of games for this phone? i don't care if i have to pay.

Just got this phone, and I have the smartphone untimited data package. I am trying to go to espn.com, and it keeps telling me that there are errors on the page and it won't load. Any suggestions?? Thanks is advance for any replies.

anyone using Microsoft voice command with their 3125? I installed it recently and have a couple of questions. I have tried microsofts support site but it is TERRIBLE. anyway.

In setup you are given 8 choices for "Voice Button" these are "Record, followed by apps 1-6, ending with none"
I am a little confused with these choices as nowhere on the phone can i find a record button or buttons labeled "app 1, app2, etc. Does anyone know of a way i can discern what is meant by these "Voice Button" choices?

My other question relates to using voice command with a bluetooth headset. According to the woefully lacking help info, Voice command works with bluetooth headsets when paired. Not for me.

I've owned this phone for almost 4 weeks now (pushing my 30-day return window) and my phone has started to randomly.....well...not work. It's as if the "radio" has been turned off without warning.

Outgoing
I tried to make a call yesterday and after hitting the talk button.........nothing. No dialing, or ringing, or anything...just dead air. I tried calling a different number but same thing.....nothing. I had to reboot the phone to be able to call out.

Incoming
I also missed an important incoming call AND VOICEMAIL yesterday because the radio had apparently shut off without warning. When I rebooted, the voicemail indicator came on immediately and I was able to retreive it......too late.

If anyone has any info on where I can peruse and or purchase Corded stereo earbuds or Headphones compatible with the HTC Cingular 3125 Proprietary port (other than the provided pair) I'd appreciate it, thanx.

Not too interested in Bluetooth cause I have heard that one can only listen in Mono on them (some sort of registry issue ??)

Has anyone purchased a 3125 recently and found them to be true stereo, not mono, ADSP AD2P, whatever its called, Bluetooth?

I need to buy a pair for my wife since the wired ones that come with the phone won't stay in her ears.

What are your suggestions for a good set of BT Stereo phones?

Also, has anyone seen a jack converter to 3.5mm for this phone yet?

Been reading the boards for ages but never had too much to contribute 'cause I've been toting a SE T-637 around for years now (such an elegant phone!) and pretty much everyone knew everything about that phone real fast. So first off, hi there and thanks for all the posts that help guys like me select our next gadgets. That said, I just picked up this 3125 and was hoping someone here could help out the new guy...

1.) My external display goes blank when the phone is open. It does come on when closed (clock) and when the side camera button is pressed, it does display the viewfinder. But again, when it's just open on a call or whatever, there's no display. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled that there's no gratuitous advertising on ...

I have the Logitech stereo(?) headphones which work great. Problem is I can't get them to reconnect after turning them off or if I stop the music too long and they timeout. Only way I've been able to reconnect is to Settings/Connections/Bluetooth/Menu/Devices/h ighlight "BT-Headphones"/Menu/Delete and then menu/New and have the phone rediscover the headphones.

Shouldn't they reconnect automatically once they are "partnered"? I don't have any other bluetooth device partnered with the phone that could confuse things.

I've changed to a consolidated Bellsouth/Cingular voice mailbox which has a different access number than the one pre-programmed to speed dial key 1. The speed dial tool won't allow the editing of key 1.

Does anyone know where the pre-programmed voicemail number is stored and how to change it?

Having a problem with active sync with my 3125. When it is done syncing i am getting a # of "unresolved items" on my favorites. when i attempt to resolve items, it just syncs again & opens a window stating "the following favorites were not completely transferred to the device" & i then look on my phone and i have lost a bunch of my favorites links. The error message states "not enough room on the device" but when i check i find that i still have many megs of space available.

anyone got any ideas or thoughts on how to "resolve" this issue?

I found how to assign a picture to a contact (convoluted method through file manager) but can't find how to assign a ring-tone to a contact. Seems stupid that this terrific phone can't do something so simple. Anyone know how to do this?

is there a way to make the phone play random ringtone each time someone's calling you?

It's frustrating that there seems to be no easy way to close any application once opened. The only way I've found is to open task manager and then close it through the menu. I even assigned Speed Dial 86 to File Manager because I use it so frequently.

And while I'm at it, there seems to be no easy way to switch between open applications, either. You know, the way you alt-tab in windows to cycle through open applications.

Any advice for these two frustrations?

when you set the answer mode to 'any key to answer', so it doesn't answer automatically when you open the phone, the left external key doesn't silent the ringtone anymore when you receive a call but answers it instead. is there a way to keep its function but still don't answer the call when phone opens? and if you can answer a call with the phone closed, is there a way to close the phone during a call and not lose it?

also, how do you turn off the sound the phone makes when you make a call?
