Samsung SGH-D407 / D347

Hi guys

so I have this phone and i love it. I put a few ringtones on there (mp3s) and they worked great until one day I tried going into the "Audio" section, went to one of the ringtones and when I tried to play it it shows "Failure". I went to the other ones and their all failure as well. So I dunno how it all of a sudden one day not work but yet my default ringtones do work..Can anyone help?

I just got this phone and so far I don't think I like it. The side buttons are a pain, even though I lock them. I'm used to the Nokia phones. Anyway, I can't find a way to set the MENU as a list, rather than a grid with the icons. Is there a way to do this?

Sorry to ask such a BASIC question, but can you tell me if this phone supports caller id on the outside screen? I read somewhere it doesnt.

Thinking of getting the D407. If you have had this phone for several months, do you still like it or are you ready to trade it in already? Most concerned about reception including dropped calls, durability, convenience, and just fun to use. Also, tell me if there is something that you really hate...

How do you KEEP the side buttons locked so you can't activate them after you flip it open?

Does anyone know how to lock the side buttons.
They are very annoying.

Does anyone know if the D407 can assign a recorded voice as a ring tone or caller ID ring tone? I tried but get the message "Not Allowed". If it is possible, is there a setting in the phone I need to change to make this feature work?
I know other phones have this feature but it seems this one does not.

i have a couple questions, dont know if they've been answered.

does this phone have a recorder?
if so, if you record a part of a song, can you set it as a distinct ringtone?
How does you use the bluetooth to get ringtones for free? i read someone saying you could.

I want to attach a picture to some of the individuals on my phone list. I have the list and have the pics, just don't know how to put them both together so the pic shows when a call comes in.

i just got my PTT phone its the D407 and it is very very good, if anyone out there needs any friends to PTT let me know or if you just need to test it,

today. I will play with it for a few days and let everyone know how good it is. 😁

Just wanted to know if anyone has figured out how to use a mp3 tone as a message tone for the d407?

Seems to be the only thing about this phone that i cant' figure out!!

Just bought this phone. I really like it so far, but I thought I would make everyone aware of its mp3 ringtone feature. I bought the USB cable to put the ringtones on the device, since it says it supports MP3. This is in fact the case, but the file has to be 300kB or less! Using the samsung software (downloadable from their webpage, also appears to support bluetooth connections) I was able to successfully down-sample several normal mp3s in to 30 second mono, 80kbps, 32000 sample rate mp3s to fit in this size constraint. They still sound decent enough, especially for a ringer. And they're pretty loud. Anyway, just letting everyone know.

Just so everyone knows, the Samsung D347 is the replacement for the d357. It keeps the same color scene, but it adds a slicker design. The D407 adds a vga camera and is charcoal and black.

Does it work with Sprint/Nextel, Can You PTT With Them?

Hi, I am thinking about getting this phone. Can someone tell me if it has the option to vibrate for a few seconds and then ring? Or if it can vibrate and ring at the same time?

I'm looking to upgrade at some point.

How loud is the ring at its loudest setting? Reason why I ask is cause I have an LG 4050. It's highest setting isn't that loud. It's strange, it'll ring very low at first, then get louder on each ring until it gets to its loudest. Then usually by then its too late.

How is the reception?
My LG used to be great, always 5 bars or 4. Sometimes 3 at is lowest (from home). right now, ever since a few months ago the highest it'll get is 3. Rarely 4, and if it does it'll jump back down to 2 or 1. Sometimes while i'm on a call I lose all reception and drop the call. This never happened until 2 years after I get the phone! Please Advice I have few questions on this phone. Can you use speaker phone on this model(D407) without opening the flip.
Also How loude is the speaker phone.
And can you answer the incoming call without opening the flip or activate the speaker phone without opening the flip.
Last thing, While on Call can you turn on the speaker phone with the JUST the SIDE key or Do you also have to use the soft key.
