MUSIC PLAYS ONLY ON SPEAKERS, NOT STEREO HEADPHONES
I am posting this because it's a problem I had, and couldn't find answers on it anywhere.
Here's the symptoms:
You have a pair of stereo headphones (2.5MM type) plugged in to your VX8300.
You can hear everything through them EXCEPT music and videos -- those play through the speakers instead.
My problem was that the phone had TTY mode on when I got it -- it behaved normally except that it always sent music to the speakers instead of the headphones. I turned off TTY mode and it was fine.
TO fix:
Go to MENU / SETTINGS AND TOOLS / Call Settings / TTY Mode / TTY OFF.
HT820 Paired But Sound Comes From Speakers Instead
Sorry if double posted; looks like I put it in the wrong forum the first time. HT820 is paired OK; phone functions respond, so clearly paired. My Music plays through the speakers, but not the headphones. Searched chat rooms for hours. Verizon tech had no idea that the unit even supports A2DP; recommended Google or go to the Verizon store where I bought the '820. I gotta think it's a simple menu item I'm not finding, because I find lost of posts from satisfied users.
Would appreciate a step by step guide.

Ghost message
I've had the vx8300 for 2 1/2 years now and had no problems. About a week ago I got a picture message with an expired link so I deleted it. Now it shows the new message icon and the inbox shows 1 message and when I select it, the phone pops up "no messages". Is there a way to reset the inbox?

Maximum number of calendar entries?
Recently BitPim seemed to quit uploading my imported Outlook calendar properly. I eventually discovered that BitPim really was uploading calendar items but only the 300 oldest items. I don't need older items on the phone so I used BitPim's filter option to tell BitPim to upload only newer items. But that raised the question: is there a hard limit to the number of calendar items I can have on my VX8300? Or is the limit impacted by what else I have on the phone such as photos, music, etc. I have a 2G SD card with plenty of room on it. Can the phone be configured to use the card for things other than photos and music? I just need to understand how the phone deals with things like calendar and phonebook items and the limitations that it imposes....

A2DP Compatible: Sony Ericsson HGH-DS970?
Purchased the LG 8300 new as a gift for xmas. I want to purchase a Bluetooth headset and see the latest Consumer Report mentions the Sony Ericsson HGH-DS970 as a nice headset. Looking at ebay and see one vendor that says if the phone is A2DP compatible, it is supposed to work. I have searched this forum and see conflicting information about this compatibility. Could someone say for sure this will work? Thank you. đ

Headset issues
My wired headset has a call answer/end button. The button works fine when I use the headset with my Samsung u540, but the button doesn't work (won't pick up a call) on my friend's vx8300. While trying to figure out what's causing this, I tried 2 different 8300's and 2 different headsets with an answer button. Both headsets worked fine on my Samsung, but not on the LGs. Any ideas on what is causing this or how to fix it?

SanDisk 4GB micro SD High Capacity
SanDisk has finally come out with their 4GB micro SD High Capacity (SDHC) Memory Card. I've been successful using a 2GB SD card in my LG VX-8300 (even though LG and Verizon both tell you it can't be done). Does anyone know if this new 4GB card will work in the VX-8300?

Silent sound files?
I was just trying to use BitPim and a data cable to transfer a .wma file I wanted to use as my ringer, and it successfully found its way to the phone, but it's completely silent. Has anybody ever heard of anything like that, or know anything I can do? Thanks in advance, I greatly appreciate your help.

Music plays in silent mode with updated software?
I updated the software on my phone to T83VZ04 and now if I hit the external play button when the phone is in vibrate/silent mode music still plays through the speakers. Anybody know if there's a way to disable this? It's annoying because if I have my phone on silent in my pocket I don't want it to start playing out load if the button gets pushed by accident.
With version 1 of the software it didn't do this, and there was also a way to disable the front play button. Any help would be appreciated...
Thanks!

reminder tone for missed calls?
I've had this 8300 phone nearly a year now, and just realized (duh!) that I don't get any audible notification that I've missed a call. You have to look at the phone to see that there is a missed call.
Going through the "sounds settings", "alert sounds", I see where I can set they type of alert for TXT, PIX and voicemail, but not missed calls.
"call ringtones" allow me to set the ringtones for Caller ID, no caller ID, Restricted calls, and all Calls, but again no place to set an alert sound for a missed call.
Is the setting piggy-backed onto something I'm missing?
Battery life?
Pardon me if this is a dumb question, but I'm not an electronics guy. Does the quality of your house's electrical wiring effect the charging of your battery? Or does where you live in relation to towers affect your battery life?
To explain: I got a VX8300 4-6 weeks ago. I live in the country about 20 miles west of Peoria Illinois....so it's rural, but hardly out in the sticks like rural Montana or Alaska. Initially, this phone needed recharged every other day or every 3 days even with little or no use. Then at the beginning of this month I took the phone to Arizona with me (I was job hunting). For 8 days I was away from home, charging the phone in motel rooms or on the highway with my vehicle charger, and the phone's battery life was exte...
