LG VX-8300

mp3 and menu service

hi, i am going nuts with this vx8300, i cant get it to play mp3s, i already was able to go to service menu and then scroll down and try to change the Mussic setting and when i press it says NOT AVAILABLE, it cant be enable! had anyboy else find this impossible to do? please help ☹️

You probably have a newer firmware, in which the player already plays mp3s, so it doesn't need to be enabled.

Just place the mp3s in the my_music folder on your microsd card, and you should be good to go.

thanks for replying, but my 8300 still dont play mp3s ☹️ i did put the files in my-music folder and they are not recognized somehow, i bouhgt the phone on April 2007, how do i know if I have the old or new firmware? thanks

I just bought my LX-8300 and have the same problem. That is, when one scrolls to Music it says "Service not available".. I have version three firmware.

I called Verizon Cust Support (LOL) and they said my phone does not have the capability to play mp3.

What a joke.

Update

I took my VX-8300 to the local store and they said my phone is bad.

They gave me a new 8300 phone. Same symptoms.

i took the phone to another Verizon's outlet. The technician used his micro SD and got a couple of songs to play - some songs would not play.

I have gave up on the song playing business with the VX8300. The wear and tear on the hen's arse is not worth the price of eggs.

Someone said the Version 4 firmware was out for the VX8330. The locals only have version 3 firmware at this time.
