The reason so is it's the exact same chip set as the 8100, and that phone is sub-par in the RF dept, this phone can't hold a candle to a phone like the E815 or 325. The damn stub antenna has been LG weak point and will continue to be. The 8100 had an extraordinary amount of bugs upon release and even with all the updates, still has a fluctuating volume issue. It's great they made it thinner, and try to put a positive spin on the awful UI, but I wouldn't buy it, and I think many of you will be disappointed in it when you do. More verizon junk, still a far cry from anything really hot.

fluctuating volume issue? That was corrected with v7 several months ago. And all this talk about how sub-par the RF is, and it can't hold a candle to the E815? lol Have you even seen a comparison of sales? It is not even close. More customers bought, keep, and seem to be pleased with the VX8100. Also, as far as CDMA phones in America.....LG VS. Moto...........not even close in customer satisfaction. So, before you come here to bash.....you should probably look at the facts. And they clearly show, that regardless of your obvious disapproval of this phone. More customers have been pleased with it by far, than the E815.

Oh yeah, and just to mention.....you should probably check out JD. Powers, ad see how CDMA LG vs. CDMA Motorola rank, as far as customer satisfaction. Its funny how you say people will be displeased with this phone, when more customers have bought, and kept the LG vx8100 than the E815. That is pure fact. I am not trying to bash the E815, because I feel it is also a great phone. But, the numbers prove you wrong.

It took until v7 for the volume problem to be fixed thats terrible!!, if you look at the indepth reviews of this site it shows the e815 with the strong rf advantage. I repeat i think people should wait a good long time before purchasing this phone if ever. i just think its very sad that a vurtually identical phone is verizon new flagship, they release nothing innovative, and its all boring crap in my opinion.

Another bright one here....so when you get a flat tire do u call and bitch at GM or Chevy, uh no.....why because they didnt make the tire, If you still havent figured out what Im talking about (and Im sure u havent) Bitch and moan to LG, since they are the producers of this nice piece of equiptment....LG is hands down the best manufacturers of cellular phones. But I guess the internet doesnt test u for smarts before you type huh.Funny how everyone wants to blame the company which provides the service instead of the company making the phone to use on the service.

It's not even that. He can have his opinion. I just hope he understands that, while he has his opinion that this phone, and LG sucks......the statistics shows that the LG VX8100 had much stronger sales than the E815, and had a lower return rate than the E815. That would be the reason why it would be the flagship phone! It makes sense to me. The VX8300 only improves on what the vx8100 did so well. It even adds improved looks. Why wouldn't it do well? Also, again to point out, that Lg performed much better than Moto, in customer satisfaction in studies done JD. Powers.

I certainly understand what you are saying, but I had the LG 8100 along with just about every verizon phone, and it is sub...

I agree, that the E815 is king in the reception department, and the vx8100 had many bugs for a while, but they were corrected, and thus was a better phone, period, to the majority of customers. As far as being mediocre? I wouldn't call an update to Verizon's current number one phone, "mediocre". It should do even better than the vx8100, which would be great. However, they could have made a few more changes to make it more of an upgrade, but in LG/Verizon's defense, if they upgraded/changed more features, they could also justify, a higher price tag. So, in the end, the sales figures, and return percentage, will tell the tale. 😎

710=815 same situation you hypocrite

There is no reason for you to be rude to me, i'm only sharing my opinion on why i think this phone will suck, that is completely acceptable on a public forum. bkw79 does not agree with me but has show respect and grace when responding to me, you should try the same.

Please gain some knowledge before you bash "Verizon" for a product you dont like and that they dont even produce, hence the manufacturer LG. Jeeeeeeeeezzzzzzz, please dont spread your lack of intelligence. So I guess when you buy a car and get a flat tire it is Gm, Chevy, Saturn Hondas fault instead of the actuall maker of the tire EX Goodyear
He sent the above to me via PM, his forte is insulting ppl only. He doesn't understand that verizon decides which phone to let onto their network, and makes it worse by taking off the original manufacture UI and installing the red commie one thus causing many bugs and problems.

lmao at "the red commie one" 🤣

So are we talking about the "red bars" UI or are we talking about the phone here, one is software and one is hardware..........Here we go, still dont get it do ya. Say what you want but LG is who creates the product not Verizon Wireless. Boy my computer sucks, I sure do hate Microsoft....WHAT
Just so sick of reading these forums to gain info on products and a select few complain about the same stuff in every thread.
Noob....ha...had a cellphone for over 10 years and worked for Verizon for 3....again, before you speak gain some sense.
...
First off I work for Verizon, I am so amazed how many people want to blame the provider as opposed to blaming the actual manufacturer of the phone. Customer calls complaining about how there phone sucks, well sir what kinda phone do u have....99% of the time the response is "Verizon"....Im going to cancel my service because my phone wont hold a charge or my phone wont get service in the basement or this phone is so ugly, You are throwing yourself in this same catagory, so mean or not mean you need to bitch to the right company. i apologize if this is not respectable to you but show some sense.

Thought this was interesting from the thread below posted by ARMYSF....
you're a noob, go be stupid somewhere else cingular fan boy.
And Im on here just to bash people....what a tard

Can't we all just get along? LOL. GEEZ.

I'm definitely an LG fan, I still use the 7000. To be completely honest, Motorolas and Nokias in general have a better RF than LG's. I've seen it time and time again. My 7000 gets no service in my dad's house, my cousins 710 calls out no problem. In my old apartment, my LG 2000 and 7000 would drop calls within the first minute with 0 or 1 bar. I purchased a used Nokia 6015i on eBay, and it pulled in two bars, dropped a call once. My friend's 8100 seems to drop a lot of calls as well.
This doesn't mean I won't buy the 8300 because I probably will. Verizon's network is improving coverage in southeast PA, and I run into very few low signal areas. Motorolas are widely known for software problems (my mom's friend worked for Motorola in...

That is a rediculous statement, all the 815 is, is an updated version of the 710 that had about 1 software updates 🙄 . When the 815 came out they already had all those 710 fixes to work from. The 8300 will be the same way, they already identified a lot of the issues with the early version of the 8100, they are not going to make the same mistake but build from the current 8100.

meant to type 10 updates not 1

🤣 yep look at awful antenna, very ugly

I did lots of testing with the 8100 against the 950 months ago..
I have to tell you the 8100 did almost everything right.. It was pretty close to perfect..
Here are the problems that bugged us the most -
The Bluetooth Implementation on the 8100 was really bad. What was discovered was in the voice circuit , there was an echo problem so that when people spoke to you and you were on Bluetooth they woudl hear themselves talk back to their own eairpiece. Yes, it happens on every 8100 and yes lots of people dont even know it does it.. It just does. Lots of people on the other end of the phone never complain about bad conversations.
The 950 Bluetooth is near perfect but the 950 has issues too.
So lets hope the 8300 fixes this one.....

I've had the 8100 almost a year and have had zero problems with it. Before you start putting down Verizon and LG you should do a little research.

ok, i had 8100 and wife had 815, guess what her phone would said 2-3 bars but would drop a call everynow and then, my 8100 has 1 bar at my house and i have never dropped a call. Sometimes I think moto's signal meter is bogus. Her phone will show 2 bars and when i call it it goes to voicemail. My razr does this sometimes as well. My 8100 never had that problem eventhough it showed the poorest signal at my house.
...
I just find it funny how someone would post something like this, without even seeing the phone.
Now, question: 40% of all RAZR's are either returned or exchanged. Do you go into a forum when a "new" RAZR is about to come out and bitch about that one? Maybe Mot fixed all of the bugs, and it's a great phone. How would you know until you actually see the phone?
...
same chip set, same stub antenna,= same crappy RF
...
Actually you're wrong. There's a lot more that goes into the phone then just one chipset. The antenna is new, and there is a bridge that connects the antenna to the phones chipset. If that bridge is out, then your reception could be poor. However, if that bridge is set up correctly, your reception is much better.
But the fact of the matter is this: You're assuming things and then going online and just spewing your ignorance on what you "think" will be the case. Even if you've never seen, touched, looked at or even played with the handset. It all just makes you look like a fool.
