and then freeware and download Super ... it converts any files into *.3g2 for use on the phone (disregard that it says Sony Ericsson, it still works)... the settings i used were
Video:
176x144
15 fps
144 kbps bitrate
Check Hi-Quality
Audio:
22500 kHz
2 channels
64 Kbps bitrate
Default
Its a great, free program that actually converts ... if the quality of the original video file is high quality the output will reflect that even though its compressed. Then just drag it to the My_Flix folder on your memory card. Use this post if you have any questions with it.

they would show up in my 8300 but would not play. the timer would read 0:00/0:00.
i put my sd card into a chocolate (8500) and it worked just fine. when i put it back into my 8300 they began working. ??? not sure why but seemed to fix my problem.
anyways, hope this helps somebody else.
i guess the 8500 had nothing to do with it.

However, in short, put your movie on your desktop, put your microSD card in your computer (it should already be formatted and have a my flix folder). Start up Super G, right click on the box toward the bottom where files go - when you right click you need to set the output folder to go to your my flix folder on your microSD card. Now set the settings for superG as sc173 says to do in the users guide. Right click in bottom box go up to add media file and browse for your movie and select it. Then hit the encode button.
