Was just wondering if anyone knew if the shock guard "bumper" device can be removed.

Still looking for hands-on information on this phone to determine if it's a good purchase or not.

actually, it can be removed, but in addition, they make some pretty cool replacements that are different shapes and whatnot. there is one called the hammerhead i think that looks pretty sweet. 🤤

i would provide links, but I am at work, and phonescoop is one of the only sites I can access, so I can't dig them up. 😡

I would try looking for the "Casio" gzone rather than the UTStarcom. It is actually a casio phone, and has sold in at least japan and australia before coming here, so searching as a casio should give you more luck. 😉

I found an older story on Engadget showing different bumpers, err.. "heads". I have to admit, this phone does look rather cool. ;)

ya, those are the ones i was talking about. I think it would've been a better decision for verizon to have the phone in black, probably with that specific top, too.

the gray one we have doesn't look as cool as any of those three, unfortunately.
