I am on my third type V. After a period of time, the antenna signal is very weak and I can't get any reception in fringe areas. When the phone is new it works great but over time something degrades. Verizon has swapped out the phone each time.

Anyone have any idea what may be going on? Other phones in the precise spot show a stronger signal. *228 has no effect on the problem. Thanks

Hey all, i got the phone, absolutely love it for what im using it for. but had a question.

obviously the phone can access GPS, to give turn by turn directions, tell emergency responders where to find you, yadda yadda. is there a way to have the phone display your GPS coordinates so you can read them? ive been reading the owners manual, and despite the fact that the phone was made for outdoorsmen, therers chapters of stuff on downloading music and emails, and almost nothing on the GPS other than how to activate your turn by turn directions.

just stands to reason if the phone can tell emergency people where you are, it should be able to tell the owner.

anyone know?

I just got the phone today, and there are 2 red bars, 1 up top, 1 at bottom, now in the past on all my phones, you could change the colors, is there anyway to change it on this phone, I cannot find any options.

The phone locks up after my old directory was downloaded from a Motorola phone at Verizon.
The phone will constantly reboot when I try to add a speed dial to an existing number.
If I go to the Speed Dials Option (#4)I get a white screen page that says
ivsContact_S00175
The phone then locks up and the battery must be removed to get the phone to shut down.

If I don't use Speed Dial the phone is great.
Obviously there is a software conflict with the download software.
By the way it did work briefly today and showed two Speed Dial numbers that were called reboot. I deleted them and shortly after the phone started the dial bug again.

someone on hofo said they used the lg vx8100 data cable works for this phone, is this true???

Tried a Type S for a couple of weeks, but took it back and got the Type V instead. Don't use Bluetooth, and the wimpy speakerphone on the Type S was a dealbreaker for me.

(BTW, I'm one of those people this phone was designed for - I'm in construction, and my last LG phone lasted all of 6 months. I don't like stuff stuck in my ear when I'm working, hence no BT, but if I gotta answer the phone, I need to be able to turn on the speaker and keep use of my hands. Digression over...)

Anyway, I had uploaded my contacts list from the type S to VZW's backup service, then downloaded it to the Type V.

That's fine, but when I go to set my speed dials, the pointer is off in the contacts list or something. Some entries don't show up, or the wro...

which phone is better/faster for texting and sending pics this one or the newer one?

So wait....I'm about to upgrade phones and was going to get the Type-V. Then I spoke to a Verizon rep and they said that the newer version, Type S was coming out in June. I started looking into the S model on-line, and from what Ive read so far, its not going to have a smaller screen, and also its NOT gonna have V-Cast capability?? Is this true? I thought this was an upgrade to the Type-V. If the Type V has the V-Cast, and the Type S wont, isn't that a downgrade? I may just have to pick up the Type-V and forget the S. Anyone have any further info on the new model or any suggestions?

i just ordered the phone today and ive looked everywhere for a data cable and i guess they just dont make them 😲 😢 so is there any other cable that might work with this phone??

Why does some phones have Ebay as an option for get it now and others don't?

I have a brand new Samsung U620 and I don't get ebay? I had a chocolate but the vibe died on that for a 2nd time but at least you could get Ebay?

My GzOne type v beboots when I turn it off it only happens about twice a week and it only reboots one time . Any body else have this problem? I called utstarcom and talked to tech support and they had never heard of this problem.

How can I put my own custom ringtones on this phone?

When I e-mailed the phone some midi files, it put them in "My Sounds", now I cannot find anyway to use the files in "My Sounds" as either a ringtone or ringer ID for a contact. Anyone else figured this out? I don't have a clue what the folder "MY Sounds" is good for if anything.

Great phone..Except Ive had the phone for 5 days and I cannot stay connected with E-bay.I (can) log in,and check watched items,but after a 30 sec. or less I lose connection.Everything else works,
get it now, yahoo..Verizon gave me new phone
but I new it wasn't that because demo in store
did the same thing.After 2 hours with tech support they said I will get text in 24 to 48 hours after some other tech looks into it.
😕 Can Anyone else connect to eBay and stay connected,for more than 1 or 2 min.with this phone.I'm sure its only this phone that wont
work with E-bay as I'v been with Verizon for many years and never had problems with the lg 7000,or a couple other phones.

I saw this phone on here about a year ago, and was stoked it was coming to verizon. (Lets just say I make very good use of Lockline insurance lol) 🤣

I'm ruff on my phones, so this seemed like it would take it like a champ. And the colors were hott.

BUT, of course it had to be relased after Verizons stupid-ass UI overhaul.

I'm going to get rid of Verizon as soon as my contracts up because i cannot STAND their crippled, horrible, useless, child-like UI.

Sucks, i really wanted this phone ☹️

And after my Nokia 6236i craps out i'm gonna be stuck searching for an old phone on ebay, cuz once Lockline has to replace it with a "newer model" I won't want the damn thing.

I get to upgrade my phone soon and I am leaning towards this one, but I have some questions for people who already own it.

1. Can you assign ring tones to people in your phone book? So if Joe Smoe calls me it will play one song and if Jane Doe calls me it will play another one?

2. The camera, I've seen pictures on the RAZR (my other choice) and they are phenomenal! How do the pictures compare? Can you send them to your PC?

screw bluetooth. screw whatever UI it has. or how easy it is to use. since i have the national access card in my laptop and my laptop stays in my car i use win2k3 UI for everything except making simple calls..

i have a nextel motorola 710 i carry too. my verizon phone though is a small lg vx3200 and i was hoping this thing would be at only a little bigger. i also wonder bout the bumper.

aniwayz, i will go look at one tomorrow in the store and make a decision then.
