Casio G'zOne Type-V
Verizon eff's it up again...
I'm ruff on my phones, so this seemed like it would take it like a champ. And the colors were hott.
BUT, of course it had to be relased after Verizons stupid-ass UI overhaul.
I'm going to get rid of Verizon as soon as my contracts up because i cannot STAND their crippled, horrible, useless, child-like UI.
Sucks, i really wanted this phone ☹️
And after my Nokia 6236i craps out i'm gonna be stuck searching for an old phone on ebay, cuz once Lockline has to replace it with a "newer model" I won't want the damn thing.
*sigh*
Why is one of the worlds biggest super power...

Nothing is crippled about verizons UI...
BT is and that sucks but there UI works just fine..
On the razor it was slow but the new razor is fine.. Its the best UI I have ever used.. its easy to navagate.. and now the new phones like the 8300 you can change it and make it in cool animated menus..
So there...
You can't transfer pics/items via bluetooth, you have to use "PIX/FLIX" - which means $$$ for Verizon
Often MP3 ringtones, transfer of, etc. are disabled.
Their first phones w/ their UI the bluetooh never worked properly.
And it's just ugly.
so fo
And last I did, I was able to put 30 second clips for ringtones on my VX-8300. It didn't break my brain or my phone.
Your issue is not the user interface, else you would be addressing the problems with the user interface (i.e., it is poorly organized, certain options are inaccessible, it's clunky, it's slow, it crashes, it calls your mother a whore.) Please stop using the UI as a strawman. Your issue here is Verizon Wireless's business practices and how you feel ma...

Atleast come up with something new and original. Or I know this is hard for you to do....GO TO ANOTHER CARRIER
Because the grass is Always greener on the other side right.
unfortunately, we americans get none of it. and for that particular phone, there is actually no way in existence to get one of those phones here, because their CDMA basically operates "backwards" to ours.
i just wish this phone had the 8500's or 8300's UI options. if verizon did that on every phone, I would like it a lot more.
Cuz if I don't like LG's, then I can do Nokia, if I don't like Nokia's, I can get Samsung, etc.....
Not the, as you mentioned, poorly organised, slow, clunky, asinine menus they stick everyone with.
Hopefully I can use an alltell phone on VZW, i'm trying to find that out
not having upgraded my phone for several years had me removed from the whole UI debate but i must say their new UI isn't very appealing. i'll use it with no complaints but i'd prefer a choice if i could, but we sign our souls away for the ne2 discount eh? lol

As for your concerns. They were the same before the new UI. The UI has nothing to do with your complaints and even if the new UI wasn't in place you still wouldn't be able to do the things listed above.

So Verizon disables BT OBEX or is it just not built in? You sound like you are defending Verizon by saying "well, they were already broke"...still not cool in my eyes...
My point was his two gripes aren't related. BT OBEX being disabled is not a function of the UI. UI is User Interface, its just a menu, it nothing to do with which features work or don't, its just how you access said features.
UI is User Interface, its just a menu, it nothing to do with which features work or don't, its just how you access said features.
I am constantly amazed at the ridiculous level of nastiness involved in the battle over whether or not features can be considered part of the User Interface.
We have the camp of the self-styled purists who insist that the UI is only the menu structure itself but not the menu content.
We also have the camp of pragmatists who hold that the Verizon User Interface encompasses the entire mandate VZW places upon its OEM's concerning how the user interacts with the phone. From the pragmatic point of view, the Verizon User Interface includes the menus AND all those elements whic...

3I definitely recommed jumping ship though. There are better companies out their who don't rob you blind.
Fact of the world we live in :::::
The NUMBER ONE Crippler of ANY phone is :::::
THE CUSTOMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I talk to them every day!!!
They buy a phone that they have no clue about the capabilities of the phone or what the phones are for, and demand that the carrier restrict them down to the basics of making and receiving calls. Then they come on forums like this Bitching and whining about how they are so mistreated because corporations that are in BUSINESS to provide a service want the CUSTOMER to PAY for SERVICES RENDE...
