870 - The worst of the VZW phones ever - Wait till lyou hear it !

We tested this weeks ago.. The worst voice quality ever on any VZW phone.. The person on the other end thinks you are on some horrible headset or something.. We tested 2 units and they are bad. Samsung has let the voice quality deterioate from the 930 and forward..
If they dont fix this stuff , they will be out of the cell phone business.
Goto any VZW store and call your friend from the 870 and then call him from the 8300 and have him toggle back and forth between calls, he will hear that the Samsung is almost unusable..

That's a shame. I would hope it's just a software issue, like the VOCODER rate, etc.
From many comments, I'm guessing it's a lot problem, not a overall phone issue. Otherwise I don't think VZW would approve it.

CLEARLY has the BEST size, shape, and feel of any phone in the lineup right now. I looked over all phones yesterday in a local store. The Nokia is nicer as far as size, but you need a microscope to read the screen.

Yes. My experience with this phone has been very positive and for me has the best quality voice of any I've had lately (E-815 and VX 8300). But, it's a good thing I know the browser menu as it is pretty unreadable. But the sports scores and email are clear, which is basically all I use.

Before buying a870 I did same test at the store with both floor model and the one I bought and voice quality was pretty good (and loud) on both ends. I tried to call several people on Verizon and T-Mobile and nothing bad. All in NYC tri-state area.
Moreover I compared with LG VX-530 which I was also considering and din't notice any glaring differences Maybe LG was a bit cleaner (less distorted) at max volume but even that could've been my imagination.
For sure Moto V325 which I also tried had the best sound and reception than both LG and Sammy. But I didn't like its buttons which were already falling out and bulging on the floor model. I was also unimpressed with a new entry level Nokia clamshell.

You had two bad phones. None of that is true. In fact I had many more problems with voice quality on the 8300 then with this phone and I had 3 of those before I finally gave up on it.

I have to say that theatermax has been on here a long time and does know his stuff, but I've said it before in response to other posts like this that he has made, he is too quick to make a decision/review, whether good or bad. For instance, speaking of the 8300...he quickly posted as he did with the 870 and raved and raved about it saying "we may finally have a winner". Then after actually having time with it, he came back to mention the horrible Bluetooth problems. I put some faith in what he says, but at the same time, I think he is too quick to judge. But, to each his own opinion.

It is just garbage. I can't tell you how bad it is. The reviews that theatremax gave was right on.

Haven't taken the time to make any calls but at first glance..this phone is decent looking. The keypad is slightly annoying and I could see that bothering me. It also pisses me off that the Send and End buttons arent the traditional Green/Red. The speaker seems to give out a decent volume. The fonts seem small but I'm young enough to not care about that. The camera is crappy like we expected.I just dont like the whole button scheme, it just doesnt seem quite right to me for some reason.
The good thing is... I don't own this phone and I will be able to sell it.

It's amazing when I tell it like it is , no one wants to believe..
Just go into th store and call someone from it and then call them at the same time from your 8300 and have them flash back and forth..

I purchased this phone a couple of days ago so far all my calls have been clear on both ends,speakerphone is strong,the bluetooth seems to work well,camera is pretty good. So far I have no complaints.
