Missed call reminder.
Can anyone tell me if this phone beeps every few minuets to tell let you know you missed a call. I go to the VZW store and the kids working there look at me like I'm crazy when I ask. My Nokia and LG dont and it drives me nuts that I have to look at the screen to see I missed a call while I was out of my car. Before my two present phones every other phone I owned had this option.
My contracts up and if VZW can't give me a phone with reminder beep I'll have to find a carrier that has a phone with it.

I don't own the phone yet, but in playing with it in the store for awhile, there was a section under tools, settings or sounds, whereby you could set the reminder to a time period of never, every 2 minutes or every 15 minutes. I would assume that would be for calls missed as I can't figure out what other reminders it's for except maybe events you put int your calendar. 😲

Went to Samsung.com and looked at the user manual. The reminder is for events in your calendar. 👿 Maybe looking for a new carrier if VZW can't help me.

Actually, according to the manual, you can set a reminder for each item individually, like missed calls, voice mails, and text messages. Unless I read the manual wrong. It does mention this for the Calendar, but it also mentions this for "Alert Sounds"

I can confirm this - my A670 is set up to "beep" reminders for missed text and phone messages... I'd guess the A870 is similar.

Your A670 had the benefit of using the Samsung Operating System. Currently VZW has determined that it would be best to elminate our consumer choice to save costs. (I am sure power users like myself would pay for the original OS on our phones - RAZR) Although I honestly do not know the answer to this question, it's entirely possible that VZW overlooked this function when slapping together their O/S. As soon as the KRZR comes out on Cingular... im outtie!
