Bitpim anyone?
Anyone know if BitPim works with the 5200 phone setting?
...
The current version of BitPim (0.09.05) fully supports the VX-5200...
It does NOT directly support the VX-5300...
But it will probably do minimal support on the 5300 as an "Other CDMA phone"...
If you really meant the 5300, then standby, the 5300 should be fully supported within 60 days...

Did you mean you were able to use bitpim on the VX5300?
Your original post has "5200"! Please reply.
Thanks.

I wasn't very clear. This is in the proper forum and my premise was does a 5300 work with BitPim and its '5200' setting. Answer is no but the file system can be used to transfer contacts, ringers, and images using 'other CDMA phone' setting. This is fine for me and I suspect the 5300 will be added by the BitPim folks to work natively in a few weeks.

Okay. Thanks.
I'm pretty sure the Bitpim folks will add the vx5300 support soon.

What cable are you using to connect your 5300 to the PC?

Works with the VX-8300 setting pretty well. Ignore the video and MP3 folders. Also do not use the calendar. I have only spent a couple minutes saving phone stuff into BitPim so not sure of other compatibility issues. Should be easy to add VX-5300 support.
Also as a side note. The connector for the VX-5300 (and VX-8300 I suspect) is the same as the VX-4650, VX-3300, VX-5200 except with only 2 "raised sections" on the outer edges. If you file off the middle bump off the older cables they work fine. I took a VX-4650 cable and did that with a dremmel tool to hook to the VX-5300. Plan to get Bluetooth dongle and link that way. The newer cables are backward compatible to the older phones since the older have receptors for 3 bumps and t...
