OK, potentially dumb set of questions:
-I have more minutes and rollover than I could ever use
-I mostly call my wife, so those calls are free
Why would PTT be useful? I don't fully understand it's benefits, given the above? Thanks to all.

So you can annoy the cr@p out of people with that damn beep, and disrupt everyone around you with the need to use your speaker phone everywhere you go.

PTT doesn't have to go through the speaker. You can use PTT and have it go through the ear piece 🙄

I found a great little program that let's you re-program that button to do something else other than PTT.
Problem is I can remember the ste name but you can google for PTTFix.cab
