HTC TyTN / 8525 / JasJam (Hermes)

My two year old unit cannot hold a charge. Do I need a new battery? If so, where and how much?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the 8525 is compatable with T-Mobile's new 3G network? I have T-Mobile and am currently using an 8125 but when the 3G network comes to my area I want to utilize it and have been looking into an 8525 for a while now. I know its compatable with AT&T's 3G network but am not sure about T-Mobile's. Anyone live in an area the has T-Mobile 3G and using the 8525?

I am looking at an 8525 on Ebay and they are saying it is a 3G phone... I though the 8925 was the 3G model and the 8525 was not?? Am I thinking correctly??

my phone wont upgrade for some reason any tim i try to upgrade through the offical att rom when it attempts to start the upgrade my connection dies it does the same when i try an unofficial one can any help me.

Having a good time trying this phone out. Oh yeah, much bigger than my Blackjack, but more functions too. One thing bothering me is that I like to sleep with the ringer off, but have the alarm wake me up. The 8525 doesn't seem to ba able to do this. Is this correct? Has anyone found a work-around? This is a pretty important feature for me!

i'm getting an 8525 and i have t mobile. will i be able to use gps if i buy a receiver or is this something that will only work with at&t? i know, this may be a dumb question.

Which do you say is better, and why?

if i have an unlocked 8525 and my carrier is tmobile will i get at&t 3g roaming because of there roaming aggreements? i know they have agreements for gsm but what about for umts.

I love this phone, everything about ti makes me wanna buy it. But I really dont the Windows mobile on it. I want what this phone has, but I dont need any of the business/pda functions, is there a way to get rid of the windows mobile and pda functions? Thanks for any info.

ever since i told her the sticker was white though slightly pink if you look closely. now she said that i could do an exchange but if the sticker wasn't white enough i'd get charged some absurd ammount. how reliable are these stickers anyway, and if it's pinkish tint i maybe should not have mentioned is an actual indication of exposure to water and not just that there is some pink pigment in there somewhere, cuz really, now that i inspect it, the pinkishness has a poke-a-dot pattern as if if it was made that way rather than it got wet and washed itself over with it's pink pigment.

anyone have experience/knowledge on this issue? to me this doesn't look like water damage.

I'm looking to get one of these phones off ebay to replace my Blackjack. I've heard mention of a common problem where the screen goes white. How common is this? Is it a software or hardware problem (broken flex-cable?)

Any insights will be greatly appreciated!!

I've been dying to get the 8525 for a while now, but it looks like the release date keeps getting pushed back. Now Cingular is releasing the iPAQ hw6925 which has very similar specs (plus built-in GPS!). Should I spring for the iPAQ or wait for the 8525? My contract is up in the first week of Nov.

They both look good to me. I'm considering getting one of these on the side as a GSM device, but which is the better of the two?

I'm getting the 8525 and I was going to buy a MicroSD card at Newegg. I thought that 2GBs in the MicroSD was it, but I saw a 4GB and a 6GB at Newegg. Will the 8525 take a 4GB card? There is not much of a price difference.

I was wondering if anybody knew how I would be able to move all my contacts to the memory card? All my contacts are taking up a lot of space on my phone and I have a 2gb card in that I'd like to use.

I'm about to get my 8525. This is my first time owning a ppc. Are there any programs or applications you guys can recommend. I've heard of downloading and easier browser to use etc. I usually use Mozilla Firefox on my Laptop, is there a version for the pocket pc or one you recommend. Also do I need to use a virus protector or a spyware reomover on my pocket pc... All advice will greatly be appreciated since I'm new to using a ppc. 🙂

my phone is set to vibe and when i send text messages, how do i get the phone to stop/not vibrate when the message is sent successfully? i tried the notification setting and there are only setting for sending MMS messages.

the vibe is especially annoying b/c when i try to stop the vibe-ing by dismissing the notification or pressing any button, it will keep vibe-ing forever.. in reality it is only about 5 seconds.. but if and when i send many messages, it get very annoying..

any help on how to remedy this problem?

Does anyone know where i can download a free full(not trial)copy of Photo Contacts pro. And can anyone tell me how i cant bluetooth files from my phone to another phone because when i look in file explorer it doesn' give an option to bluetooth, it just says beam.....Also can someone help me to remove the message sent notification using the file registry program. I have PHM registry editor on my laptop, havent and do not knw how to put it on the Tytn

I just switched to 8525 and have not had luck getting my MMS to work properly. Called my carrier, T-Mobile, and again no luck. please help.
