Wow this phone looks awesome!!
This looks like a very nice high end Nokia handset. And the 3.2MP camera actually has a good lens on it. I bet it will blow away pictures on the A990. That leads to the big question...Big Orange or Tmobile?
...
I think this is going to wind up in the Nokia experience stores. I don't know that either is going to get it, because while it is 3G capable, i think that its running on 2100 Mhz.
Either way, this is still going to be a great phone.

If it is sold by cingular, I'm thinking t mobile will get there own version like many many phones they both offer. or vice versa.

What is the point of a 3g phone on T-Mobile?? They cant offer any 3g services..
...
T-Mobile ha ve to offer 3G services in the US if they would like to stay in the number 4 spot. If not a company like Alltel will be glad to take that spot in the lineup...
...
Alltell is a tier 2 carrier.... no where near large enough to take over the spot of a tier 1 carrier. Plus, how is alltel going to take over a tier 1 carrier because of a lack of 3g, while Alltel themselves have no 3g networks either.... curious. Watch for T-Mo to buy up some UMTS spectrum in the FCC auctions later on this year.
...
So a network can't use 3G capabilities until they buy the frequencies? I'm confued, please explain this...
...
Yes. A carrier cannot utilize 3G technology until they have acquired bandwidth dedicated to that. They have to purchase spectrum from the government (FCC) to do so. Verizon, Sprint and Cingular (AND Alltel, by the way*) have all done that and T-Mobile hasn't.
The reason T-Mobile tends to lag behind in things like this is because for them, the US market is pretty much secondary. While the other carriers mentioned are all US based, and therefore live and die by what they do domestically, T-Mobile is based out of Europe and anything they get from the US is pretty much icing on the cake. So from a global perspective, there's really no hurry for them as long as they remain at least somewhat competitive.
*Alltel does indeed hav...

Alltel does have EVDO....but only in 11 cities. Sure they launched it before Sprint...but Sprint's EVDO network is 10X larger than Alltel's. So I guess it really doesn't matter who launched it first.
...
Yeah, didn't know the specifics of Alltel's 3G deployment. But I was just correcting casey, who said that they didn't have 3G at all.
