LG VX-8500 Chocolate
echoing problem? Help please!
I hear myself on the phone.
What I mean by that is that I can hear my voice throughout the phone speaker. (There's no delay for my voice, so I'm hearing the exact same thing WITH my voice)
It's really annoying by now.. and I'm wondering if it's just mine or for everyone's phone...
Please help! 😢

Mine does the same thing, but its only happened 3 times over a 3 week period of heavy use.
really? does that mean it doesn't happen ALWAYS?
hmm.. maybe I should check mine out as well 🙂
thanks for your reply! Please other people reply as well! I need your comments!! 🙂
I ask because a few times lately when I've placed a call it says it has connected, but all I hear is my voice echoing back. BUT, the good news is, it's not the phone. I have 5 lines with Verizon and it has happened with another too (different phone), so I think it is a network problem. I haven't called it in because I thought maybe it was just a fluke in the system and would stop.

Do you mean on every call or once in awhile? Like when you place a call, instead of hearing it ring or hearing the other person you just have dead air and can hear yourself talk?

well, I can hear the other person and when " I " talk, I can hear myself as well from the speaker of the phone. Like, you hear ...

In fact...now that i think about it...i think my phone has just about ALL the glitches/bugs mentioned on these boards (the music shuffle thing, this, the sent txt msg thing, etc).
If verizon doesnt acknowledge these bugs (instead of just saying, "oh its probably just YOUR phone...), i swear to everything holy im taking it back. Frustrating!
You know the thing that I found out though?
if I hold my phone like REAL REAL close right into my cheek/ear, I can hear my voice echoing with my real voice at the same time. (no delay)
but, if I hold it with a little space between my face and the phone, it is just fine. I don't hear myself at all. Even if I can, I don't recognize it at all.
So, if that buggs you too much, try that way, I recommend you. 🙂
I hope this helps.. I was going to change my phone due to the cracking " * " , " 0 " , and " # " keypads and this echoing problem, but since there are so many defective phones out there right now,
even if I change it, there's no guarantee that I'll get a P E R F E C T one. (Other then those two 'minor...

The echo happened once so far with my Chocolate, but that's it.
I'm almost positive it's the service provider. I would talk to a Verizon rep about it. But I can almost guarantee it isn't the phone. Hope this helped.
