The unknown text messaging mode

First, I have to say I have no idea how i got into this setting. All i know is that when i create a new txt msg, it has a small icon in the message already. Each time I have to delete this icon, otherwise if I send a txt message the letters will look like the following "€òv©Ïq". Any ideas? What did I change?

Nevermind about this. I just figured it out, i enabled Name Card. whoops. In case this happens to anyone else, now you know =P
