As of right now no it doesnt look like it, but i think they will fix this and a few more bugs with a software upgrade. all thiese new phones one day or another will need software upgrades.

According to an earlier post this is half true.
I see two issues here.
The first was addressed as you can't assign ringtones to the caller ID, No caller ID or the restricted calls. Which would be in the settings/sounds menu.
The second, possibly miss understood issue, is not being able to assign ringtones to the address book.
Maybe someone with a good grasp of LG menus and has the 8600, in hand, can address both of these issues in one post to clear this up for all of us.

you can assign ring tones to each caller. however u cannot give each caller a diff txt tone, then will all be the same. and u can change the cid no cid and rerestricted calls...
