LG VX-8600 / AX-8600

I have read a lot of reviews that the speakerphone is bad - how is the sound quality when playing mp3s?

I'm new to these music playing phones.

Will the phone just let me load songs onto my micro SD card for listening on the music player? Or do i need to purchase verizon's music kit (lame)? :-P

Can you press the outside buttons to start the music player like you can on the vx8100 and vx8300?

Also is there an equalizer like on the vx8100?

is anyone elses camera god awful!? whenever you go to take a picture it's all pixelated? my friend has the LG unlocked chocolate version and the camera honestly blows this one out of the water but it doesn't make any sense. same company, 1.3 MP? any tips on how to get better quality pictures. also, is there anyone to set my mp3s as ringtones or do i have to use mobile17.com and send it to my phone? either way if i do use mobile17, i don't think it will save as a ringtone..thanks guys!

As many of you know, the E815 (my current phone) has an incredibly weak vibrate. How is it on the 8600?

Does anyone know how the speakerphone on the 8600 compares to the Razr? I am looking to buy the 8600 but the speakerphone is a big factor for me.

I was reading a review and someone posted that "Ability to assign caller ID/no caller ID/unavailable # separate ringtones like previous LG's had has been removed." is this true??? 👀

I got this phone in the mail two days ago, and sadly it will be going back. The biggest pros are the BEAUTIFUL bright displays (Hello Moto, fix that dim, sad excuse for an external display on the next version of the KRZR) and the quick response when going through the menus. I also loved the response of the touch sensitive buttons. The cons are many in my opinion. The build quality is just not up to recent LG phones. After two days there is already "jiggle" from the hinge. The black metal surface around the keys feels flimsy and looks like tin they threw some black paint on. The camera is TERRIBLE. These are the most pixelated photos I have ever seen. I was really looking forward to this one, but I know there are better choices out there.

sofar this is the only thing i dont like. sometimes when i get a pic msg that also has audio, they do not play on the same screen. the pic will show, then it goes to a blank screen and plays the audio 😢 . this happen to anyone else??? what should i do

Does the lg vx 8600 have mini sd like the lg -v? im goin to upgrade, i really miss the flip phones lol plus this is the 2nd v iv had and it has started to give me some problems. I have been reading other post and so far the 8600 sounds real good 🤤 , are there any cons?

I really want to purchase this phone because of its price, design (thin), and its ability to function as a music player. From the reviews I've seen this phone seems have a better music player than the KRZR, and has a lower price. Does anyone know if there are any disadvantages to this phone over the KRZR? Thanks for your help.

I am in my 15 day trial period with the 8300 - so far no problems other than a few dropped calls. Really like the looks of the 8600 - troubled by comments about the speaker phone. Do I move to the 8600 or keep the 8300? Thanks!

On the VX8300, I was able to press "Menu", "0", "0000000", and go to the "Music Player" option to turn MP3 capability on (why it was defaulted to off I have no idea...probably their cooperative monopoly with Windows for WMP 10). However, it states that the VX8600 can play MP3's too, but I can't find a way to get them on there. I placed my sd card in from my 8300 and it already has a folder "my mp3s", I assume, from the 8300. I placed an MP3 in there using the cable and bitpim, but can only access it when checking the "memory". It doesn't show up in the player. HOWEVER, MP3's DO show up when I put them in the appropriate folder for ringers. Any way to get MP3's recognized and played without converting to WMA?

How do you turn the speaker phone on?

I love the phone so far. Being able to transfer stuff is nice a big plus.

Has anyone used the bluetooth headphones. If so how did you like them? I want to make sure they are worth the money before I buy them. I went to buy them at the VZW store. The salesman told me that they are not returnable, when I asked about the worry free guarantee he said it does not apply. If they malfunction they will replace but he said that they will not allow you to return.

This phone copied the KRZR and RAZR. Also copies the Samsung BLADE with the black styling and keypad. Won't be nearly as good as either phone!!!! 😈

By far the most unusable speaker implementation in a cell phone yet..

The volume out of the phone is totally silly. In any regular environment you can not hear anything and the speaker being on the outside lid, makes it worse.. If you turn it over, you can hear if you put it up to your ear. We tested 3 different ones and the solectron guy in the store almost fainted when I showed him. He went to the store manager and showed him and they freaked out. So many people are going to return this phone because of this.

Imagine 5 months of testing and the VZW testing group forgot to test the speaker volume ? This is so dumb on their part.


I am bummed, The phone is really nice in so many other ways...
