Buy this phone and you will never have any problems again. Women will love you and try to abduct you because it is so sexy. You will be the talk of your town. It doesnt matter what the price is just buy this phone. It is wicked -----. I have not found one thing wrong with this phone yet. Verizon is awesome too. I am never going to buy anythign but LG phones and this one confirms that.
if not around computers
it would be a very nice phone, but...
PROS: good screen, downlodable everything. you dont have to go through VZW to get ringtones, games, or wallpapers; with this phone you can connect it to your PC and Voila, upload it all. as of right now, cant sync with Outlook.
CONS: if around computers/monitors, it reboots all the time, and signal is very low!! it goes into analog mode. totally unacceptable. it is kind of big for this late in the cell game.
Conc;usion: I think I'm going to return this phone for good - already got it exchanged.
This phone sucks
I have had so many problems with this phone its really starting to look worth while to pay the cancellation fee. I am on my third one and I have only had it for a year. And honestly none of the times that i had to have it replaced was of my own fault. The only plus side to this phone is get it now and the fact thats it has a color screen.
GREAT PHONE
I positively love this phone. I've had 2 other phones (nokia 3390 and LG TM510) and this is the best hands-down. If you're looking for a feature packed phone and you don't want a camera this baby is it. To me the things that are cons are minor in the overall scheme of things.....
Pros:
*MP3 RINGTONES! It can be done with a little bit of time & ingenuity.
*Ability to customize the phone. Has so many little features that take time to find, but are cool once you find 'em.
Cons:
*Battery life could be better, but will still last me at least 2 days.
*Paint chips after a while.
*Bad clip designs: whether the leather case or standard clip.
*Standard ringtones and wallpapers are horrible.
Not a Fringe Phone
Needed a phone to replace my old Startac 7868. Against my better judgment for Nokia, the VZW salesperson recommended this LX 4400B phone. This can be a great phone for some people; however, I tried this phone for one day and returned it for the Nokia with better battery life. My office is in a marginal 1-bar digital signal area. Even so, my old Startac got 60 hours standby, but the LX 4400B only got 21 hours standly with 6 minutes of calls.
PROS:
- One of best physically constructed flip phones, especially the hinge. Only the antenna would not fully extend. Keypad very solid/no creaking.
- Clear call clarity where good signal.
- Vibrater for calls or text messages received very strong.
PRO OR CON:
- Color display phone, but this is drain on battery.
CONS:
- Battery life poor compared to other phones in fringe areas.
- Some parts of display difficult to read especially for someone with less than 20/20 vision.
- User manual OK but could be more comprehensive. Read elsewhere translated from Korean into English.
- Compared to Startac 7868, reception is not as good especially in weal signal areas. On VZW network, where 1-bar signal digital with Startac was analog signal with LX4400 deep in my office building.
Great Phone
I am a phoneaholic some people might say! I have had several different phones including a picture phone. I have to say that the VX4400 is a great phone. I am a Harley rider and while on a motorcycle ride in Iowa I used the voice call feature and it worked plus i had great sound while riding on the back of the bike. I use Midwest wireless out of Ottumwa, and I couldn't ask for a better phone!
Pros Great Phone all around
Cons the ring tones
and the fact you can't go directly to your call log.
Strong Contender
This phone was Definetly one of Verizon's best phones! LG did an amazing job! Great reception (South Florida). Beautiful screen, nice size. Overall a GREAT phone, sad to see it go :(
I love this phone
I have had my VX4400 for 7months after having the 510 and the VX10 this phone has given me no trouble at all!! the color screen is really nice and the keypad lights up a really nice blue! some of the ring tones are a little bad but with this phone you can download new ones so its ok! If you are considering Verizon GO WITH THE LG VX4400!!
Not for me
I bought and tried this phone with Verizon for 2 weeks. Due to the fact that we travel extensively, it's important to us that the phone work well in analog mode and has exceptional clarity. This phone failed in both respects. It also lacks the ability to force analog when in an area with a poor digital signal. It also has no speakerphone. After traveling extensively in Canada and Alaska for 4 months with my 2-year old Audiovox and Verizon with what we considered exceptional service, I traded this phone for the new Audiovox CDM8600. It has exceptional clarity (when calling from the same places where it was poor with the LG), 2 way speaker, and force analog. With either phone as with any other phone I've tried when there's only 1 or 2 bars in an analog area, you can't get out and all incoming calls go to voice mail. The LG would probably be a great phone if you were always on the America's Choice Network. It was easy to use, had great back light, cute wallpaper, and numerous ring tones. But, it wasn't for us traveling nationwide.
Utterly dissappointed
I have had a total of three of these things. None of them which worked right. The first one, the screen flickered repeatedly. The second kept freezing and rebooting. The third is doing all three. Verizon will no longer allow me to exchange without paying for a new one or getting a refurbished one (if the new ones are this bad, I'm definitely not getting a refurbished).
The other thing that I hated was when the phone switches to analog, it wouldn't make any outgoing calls. I would get that fast busy signal. And the only way it would switch back to digital mode was to shut it down and turn it back on. I don't think LG was alone in dropping the ball on this one. Verizon definitely let me down. I was an avid proponent of Verizon until now. I'm going to switch back to my Samsung SCH-T300 until my term is up, then I'm going to T-Mobile.
