LG VX-4400

Ok Phone...not the best LG
This phone was a good phone to start off with. It doesn't have to many features, so it is pretty simple. The sound through the earpiece could be better! It also has neat features that light up when it rings, but it doesn't get annoying at times.
Pros: Cool lights when it rings
Good Reception
Easy to Use
Cons: Earpiece sound not great
Speaker sound even worse
Lights can be annoying
Ringtones not very loud.
outstanding phone from verizon
i have used many phones, the vx4400b is the
best of them all. great reception, great audio quality and excellent features all
around.
Phone just not good enough
I was sent this phone by Verizon when my StarTac stopped working all the time. The old StarTac was a tank and that is what I will judge any phone by. This LG has nice features and it was easy to figure out. However the quality is nowhere near what I expected. The first phone's antenna fell out. That phone was replaced. The second one was very difficult to hear since the volume in the ear-piece kept going quiet, then loud. When I was in the car or even walking around work I couldn't hear people and then it would kick back up the volume and blast me. Changing the privacy or auto volume had no effect on this. Verizon sent me another phone it does the same thing. I just can't use a phone where the sound quality is so poor that I can't hear half the things people are saying to me. It's too bad, I really wanted to like this phone.
poor, so far
I've been testing this phone for two days now, trading in my old "dinosaur" Audiovox phone, and the signal strength and sound quality has been poor (Palm Beach County, Florida). I stood next to a friend of mine who had the same service provider, and he had four reception bars on his Nokia phone while I was roaming! What's up with that? I used my old Audiovox phone for three years in the exact same area with the same provider and never had these problems. This morning my friend called me back because she couldn't understand the message I left her the previous night (garbled). The features seem to be good but without good reception, who needs it. I'll try it for a few more days and update my review.
LOOKS GOOD
my boss has this phone. One thing bad about it is the outside called ID glass broke on her for no apparent reason. i was thinking of switching my V60i for this phone. So I might just go ahead and do it since I hear its way better than any ohter phone Verizon has ever introduced. My v60i sin't that great. Bad sound quality.
This phone u must try out
:o)
Hate to break up the love affair
Sorry to break up the love affair, but I am now on my second VX-4400. The first one had poor sound quality compared to my Startac 7868W, this one after a full cycle battery charge will not turn back on. This phone has everything that one could want except good audio quality and reliability. I think that we should all remember that the purpose of a cell phone is to send and receive phone calls, and this phone doesn't live up to this basic function. Going back to Verizon to get an Audiovox CDM-9500. Larger, worse UI, but excellent audio quality and reception. If that phone doesn't work I will wait for the Motorola Vx due out later this year. Sorry, I gave it two tries and the VX-4400 didn't deliver either time.
Great phone! But....
It didn't past my test through the mountains with the tri-mode feature. I thought tri-mode was the answer to all my questions but it semms that mountain is a black hole for all cells SO...I'm returning it after 24 hours of use and getting a vx4600 (all digital).
LG Dropped The Ball On This One
I upgraded from the LG-TM510 via the new every two program by Verizon. The phone is a phone. It never let me down. My biggest complaint is the phone switches from NORMAL mode / SILENT ALL mode / MANNER mode when you hold in the button on the outside of the phone. I am accustomed to slipping the phone in my pocket. I cannot tell you how many times the phone rings aloud after I thought I had it in SILENT ALL mode or does not ring at all because it switched modes. I use the phone as a business line, and I cannot afford missing client calls. I called both Verizon and LG directly and both refuse to address the problem other than placing blame. Does the US Cellular model have this button? LG claims that Verizon recommended putting it there so it is their fault. Verizon claims LG said there would be a key guard option available to lock it from switching modes so it is LG's fault. Either way I am going to sell the phone and go back to my trusty TM-510. It is sad that both reputable companies will not address the issue.
My advice: Stay away if you carry the phone in your pocket, otherwise be aware of missed calls!
