Motorola Cliq XT / Quench
Phone Scoop Review
Mar 16, 2010 by Eric M. Zeman
Motorola's CLIQ XT is an all around better handset than either the CLIQ or the Backflip. Improved battery life, improved performance and an improved music experience earn the CLIQ XT high(er) praise. read review ›

Pretty good phone
This i'd say is one of the bes tmobile smart phones, w android
It comes close to the MyTouch 3G Slide, but it really has no other comparison. It seems sturdier then the original one that had screen cracks (you'd see posts on blogs or ebay) but then thats people dropping them all the time. Anyway this phone is awesome I suggest you get it it.
one of the best
First let me say thats this is one of the best phones from t mobile. Its perfect. I want to get the new htc with the transformers movie but it was sold out lol. This phone has every thing you need that's if you are not spoiled with technology. This android rocks. I have no complaints but one and that's the battery .but what you expect. And it freezes sometimes .so what lol T mobile you are doing a good job.
Nice Phone, but second guessing my decision
First of all, let me start off by saying I've been a diehard Blackberry user for about four years. I had it all planned out last week. When I got paid on Friday, I was going to purchase the Behold II or the Motorola Cliq (Original cliq). The reason I was checking out the Behold II was because the screen got very good reviews being a OMLED screen and CNET said that the battery life was great because of this screen. The reason I was checking out the original Cliq was because it has a physical keyboard which I usually need and prefer. Well all week long, I was waiting until Friday got here, payday. Finally Friday morning, I called to place my order and the Cliq had jumped from $99 overnight, to $149! I was pissed because I didn't want to pay that. But, they had this new phone called the Cliq XT, same phone without the physical keyboar. I was scared to try it but TMO web sales told me the keyboard on screen was very responsive and virtually error free, and there was this new thing called Swype. So, I took a chance and got is, plus it was only $99. Love the phone, love the features, hate the keyboard and my battery dies within four hours from moderate usage, mainly from Motoblur. Oh yeah, and Motoblur was another reason for buying this phone. While I'm still getting used to the Android OS, I still can't help but wonder if I should have got the Bold 9700 instead.
PRO's
Beautiful Screen
Great Size in Hand
Slim
Great multi media features
Loud, clear speaker for music/ringtones
You can opt out of having all your motoblur contacts listed in your phone contacts, something the palm pre won't let you do and the main reason I got rid of the pre. It's a feature on Motoblur, which is like palms version of Synergy.
Camera is terrific and has a flash!
CON's
Battery life depending on your usage.
Absolutely no accessories like fitted cases made for this particular phone yet. Hate universal cases.
That's about it and they're not big CON's at all.
I Just LOVE IT!!
The Cliq XT wasn't my first choice for a phone, but I followed up on it. At first I wanted the Nexus but it was tough to get. Then I wanted the Motorola Motoroi, but I didn't know when that was coming out. Now here comes the Cliq xt, being fed up with my Dash 3g, I was looking for a savor of phones and finally I have it and I can't keep it out of my hands. I love it! and I'm very happy with it.
As I read a lot of forums and phone junkies really feel this phone is ugly and I don't understand why. As a starter, I think it's great. For hardcore phone junkies, I guess it wouldn't be for you. It has android 1.5, but I don't mind. Sometime soon we should be getting an update for 2.0 or 2.1. So I'm not to worried about it.
Pro:
very lite, not heavy. Fits nicely in hands.
screen size is perfect, browsing the gives me no problems as read thru the sites. Has pinch & zoom to adjust text to your liking.
very responsive to touch.
love the camera, takes great pics and has a flash.
5)like the touch button on the phone, so in case you may want to control your scrolling through your apps or contact list you can use that instead.
6)likes the vibrating keyboard as I type. Has the Swipe keyboard, but it slows me down, so I don't use it much.
Cons:
I really don't have much to complain about about. The only thing, I'm not to crazy about is not being able to logout of facebook or gmail...But I'm sure I'll figure out how to do it.
Cliq
This phone is AMAZING! One of the best out there it has everything from numbers on the keypad to an earpiece...honestly i enjoy the look/feel/smell of this fantastic piece of machinery.
Great Device In Many Ways.....But....
I had trouble deciding between 3.5 and 4 on the rating scale.
It is a great phone. The screen is crisp and the onscreen keyboard is very responsive which to me negates any negatives on not having a keyboard. MOTOBLUR social skin makes this device very useful for very social oriented people. The call quality appears to be very good as well. It is also very visually appealing which is important to me. There are a few drawbacks to this device.
The not so cool things that stand out on this device that it is underpowered. It can't handle multitasking very well with its limited specs. It lags off and on because of this. It doesn't appear to handle 3G-2G handoffs very well either. The speaker circuitry isn't great either. I've noticed that there is a faint static type pop when the speaker deactivates from sounding something.
Overall, it is a good device to have if you can put up with the stuff above.
In short,
PROS: Good screen, responsive keyboard, decent battery life, sleek design, camera w/ flash, good UI
CONS: Underpowered, speaker pop, 3G-2G handoff
Good phone but...
Pros: Handles MotoBlur well. Solid phone
Cons: Battery life. T-Mo Network( Not phone's fault). No 2.1 update yet(but it's coming
I wanted to like the phone but the battery and network stopped that. I'll be interested to see it when the 2.1 update goes out
