epic return!!
was happy to get the epic after coming from an evo, have 2 lines with sprint so i gave my wife my evo, and i got the new epic, don't get me wrong the epic is nice, but its no evo the display on the epic is nice, but i found myself missing my nice evos screen size. after a couple of days i found myself missing a lot of the things that the evo has and does perfect like the whole web experience. the epics touchscreen is not as accurate as the evos, i found myself actually trying to use the touch screen more than the keyboard on the epic , i guess it was from being use to the evo. also the epic doesn't feel like a solid phone charge port on the top alot of things the evo just does better the web was also faster on the evo and battery life was about the same. to me the nice amloed screen and keyboard just wasn't worth it so i returned it and got another evo so we both have evos now. you don't no what you got until its gone, glad to have my evo back...
One of the best androids i've used
Well about a month ago I went to upgrade with sprint. Well with work I got the iPhone. When I owned the samsung epic 4g it seemed that it was the best android that I've come to use.
It has a fascinating app market as well but I love my iPhone better

not a good phone
I have had this phone for 3 months nothing but problems I've gotten it fixed and replaced many times I had to buy an extra battery because it got so hot and messed up my battery.. it don't stay charged and it drops calls all the time. I would never.tell anyone to get this phone it is not worth it.
people dont know how to review below me
this phone is awesome. especially if you get your own software and not the crappy one sprint puts out. Everyone here is reviewing the phones software and not the phone itself. The phones capabilities are incredible, speed is great when you have adequate signal and cant be beat with wireless. If your gps doesn't work, it doesn't make this phone stars. Yes there are bad phones out of the box, but remember phone scoop is for the phone in general not your individual phone. I have had my phone from the day it came out a year and a half ago and any problem i have can and was fixed by me with help from online. Syndicate rom is the best and lets you customize everything. camera is great and led. only problem is that its big and they are not making a new version, therefore I'm going to have to stick with this great phone untill it falls apart.
This phone is awesome!
I have a friend who has this phone and it is absolutely awesome! He let me mess around with it a bit. I love the full QWERTY keyboard and the bright and vibrant colors on the capacitive touch screen. The 4G service works excellent and the calls are clear. The only con that I found on this device is that it sometimes answers by itself without pressing anything. Other than that, the phone works great. :-)
I Love this phone
This phone has been great. It runs apps with out any problems. Both my wife and I got this phone and both have been happy as can be with it.
Pro's: The 1 ghz processor runs every app I have loaded smoothly,
The 16 gig card that came with the phone is plenty of room for my music and photos.
Super Amoled screen is bright and crisp.
The 5 meg camera takes some really great pictures. Even when it is zoomed.
I really do love the interface of the phone. It is different that the Motorola and HTC's Icons.
Con's: CDMA can be slow if your not in a 4g area.
The button configuration on the phone could have been better. The zoom for the camera is on the rocker arm for the volume. The camera button is on the other side. This kind of makes it hard to manipulate if your holding your phone like a camera. Also where the sleep button is placed you will tend to push out the sliding keyboards out.
Is a bit high on preloaded apps.
Over all 2 out of three cons are more towards Sprint. One towards with Samsungs design of the button placement. Still those are more of a opinion that a gripe. Over all this is a really solid phone! I would recommend to anyone.
worst phone I've ever had
I'm not usually hard on phones, but I'm a light user and I have to charge this thing 2X a day! Apps are always running that I've never used even though I 'force stop' them. The phone is only sending 1/2 my texts. And it freezes up on me so much I have to keep rebooting the phone. ((sigh)) I went to the sprint store to see what was up before my 30 days are up all they could do was an update. Oh and btw those bigger batteries you can buy for this phone, work good for about a month and start acting worse then the original battery, I've read the reviews.
PRO's: large screen. extra row of keys for just #'s.
CON's: battery life is the smallest I've ever seen. Freezes up. sends about 1/2 of my texts. Apps run even when you try to stop them.
Best Phone on the Market
I work in the wireless industry and have had hands on with EVERY Sprint model phone and just about every other carriers phones from time to time.
With out a doubt, this is the BEST phone on the market to date!
All in all, it offers the MOST! The Super AMOLED screen is absolutely amazing. You even have the QWERTY keyboard to go with the incredible screen. Along with the Android Market for apps to do just about anything, it really can't be touched.
Considering I do this for a living and I will only carry the best, it says a lot that I personally own the EPIC and believe hands down, it is the best there is!
Epic 4G: Hints for my first touch screen phone
I have owned my phone with Sprint since Oct. I have grown into my first ever touch screen phone and love it. **Also just rated by CNET as one of the 5 best phones currently out there.
Pros:
-Fast connection times
-Good size screen to watch youtube in normal or high quality definition.
-Love Wifi connection availability
-Call quality is relatively clear.
-Speaker phone is decent but sometimes it's hard for parties to hear one another.
-Adding apps from the market is great & makes it almost like having a little computer with you.
-Opens PDF files ....Alleluia!
-Unlimited phonebook for numbers & email address entries, that can be customized to your liking.
(Huge improvement from the older samsung phones.)
-No Radio, No Problem! There is an app for that to add almost all your favorite Radio stations in the android market place.
-Love the qwerty keyboard.
-Very intuative phone.
Cons:
-Battery life: especially when using a lot of your apps can deplete your battery by 5pm.
**My Solution: Buy Samsungs little flat black "battery charger" that comes with an extra battery. This way you can charge both your phone and the extra battery each nite so your good all day & nite.
Also having the car charger would be smart.
Overall, I love my new phone and Sprint's customer service.... Having Fun!
