Motorola V220

2 days and i'm returning it!
Omg, why me.....This phone sux. The camera sux, the reception sux. I'm extremely disappointed. I just bought it Friday and I'm returning it tomorrow Monday. I had heard that Cingular service sucked where I live, and right away most of my calls dropped the first day. I'm signing up with Verizon tomorrow.
Not worth it!
This phone was lousy from day one. The camera in the phone never worked correctly. I had issues with the speakers. There were so many times that I was able to be heard but I couldn't hear the speaker. The screen would go out and then randomly appear again. I had to return the phone and I had the same issues with the 2nd phone.
I don't recommend this phone, not even if it is free!
HORRIBLE
Oh my god is this phone horrible. I got it back in December of 04. Waste of $50.
Pros:
Nope. There are NONE.
Cons:
01; The Camera is HORRIBLE. The pictures are literally crap. Also after a few months, my camera just stopped working. I have no idea what happened just randomly stopped working.
02; Half of my calls don't go through. I am in York, PA.
03; Only has one game and it is just a demo.
04; In the phone book, you can't put multiple numbers to a name. I had literally two phone book entries for every person.
05; Sucky ringtones.
06; When you want to block your number, you have to go into In-Call Setup EACH time.
How could they sell this
the ringer is to low screen works when it wants the phone camera is awful when there is no light
Guh-ross!
Okay, lets start off with my hatred for the design. It's just ugly in my very harsh opinon...the buttons are too small...the list goes on and on...
The camera takes pictures, very badly however. They turn out blurry and miscontstrued. The screen might be 65k colors, but since it is STN opposed to TFT, it just looks cheap. As you see, most of the problems I have are due to the "cheapness factor."
You can't really complain about how it works, very good phone as far as the phone goes...it just sucks everywhere else!
No Reception
I have this phone through Cingular and get very poor recption with it. While people standing next to me with CIngular phones can use their phones, I'm left with an expensive paper wieght.
There are better option out there.
Run away fast
The phone is conveniently small and keypad easy for me to use. The reception is horrible, sound quality abysmal and call drop rate huge. I am a physician on call a lot and I cannot use this phone due to dropped calls and poor reception; two of my children have the same phone in a different area and are having the same experience. No matter how good the features, if the reception is poor, the cell phone is useless. My carrier refuses to allow me to exchange phones, and is not interested in my complaint; I use Cingular in Supply and Wilmington, NC.
very disappointed
I received this phone via an upgrade from Cingular. I have had it for about 9 months and I have been marginally impressed.
Pros -
MP3 rings (expensive to download)
USB
speaker phone is loud and can be used when the phone is closed
free
Cons -
the upper part of the phone (part you flip up) comes loose with extended usage and makes it harder to hold it tightly against your hear, making it hard to hear in loud places
terrible screen resolution
terrible camera - pics look washed out
reception leaves allot to be desired
My wife's screen and outer display have totally failed about 6 months
Screen and outside display is hard to see in direct sunlight
This phone is fine for someone who does not use their phone very often or if you get it free. If you are into phones, this is a bad choice.
Bad Luck, phone sucked.
Signed a 1 year contract with Cingular. Got the V220 for "free". Rebate system is HORRIBLE! The first day I had my phone, it worked 4 or 5 hours and would never turn on again. Sent it back, got a new one, had it about two months and the earpiece quit working, so it was speakerphone only. Sent it back got a new one and the outer screen quit working. CRAP!! So I bought a different phone.
not a very good phone
I had this phone for almost 6 months and had nothing but problems from it. First of all the quality of the pictures from it is way below par. The sound quality also is not very good. And the reception that this phone gets is very poor also. As far as an entry level phone goes its probably pretty good but when i bought this phone it cost more then an entry level phone. If i got this phone for free then i might take it but i wouldn't pay for this phone.
