International Phone?

Just wondering about the international phones being offered in EBay these days. They are advertised as 900/1800 or 900/1800/1900. My question is this, I want to use this model for travel to Asia. I do not want to contract with a US carrier. Can I just buy a sim card over there, stick it in and make calls without having to subscribe to a carrier?

I just want to make calls from Asia to USA. I don't need internet or SMS services, just phones calls.

Won't turn on.

I'm really confused. I turned off my phone last night, and htis morning it wouldn't turn on. So i put it on my charger - nothing. i take out the battery while its on the charger and the phone's lights come on - the blue one and the screen light up. When i put the battery back in it starts up and charges, so later i turn off the phone and now it wont turn on again. my method from the first time wont work and i cant figure out waht to do. Help me please!

Download games via the USB port?

Does anyone know how to install games from your PC using the USB port?

I installed and updated the mobile phone utility software from one of the earlier threads (Upgrade Ringtones Using USB cable -
http://www.motclub.com/html/programs.htm#mpt). »
But when you use the software, you only get access to pictures & audio folders on the phone. Does anyone know if the phone is supposed to take jar files or sis files?

Themes for motorola v220

I have read that you can download themes on the v220, and I know you can select themes in the menu...
but where and how can I download them?

please help me...

help needed

i have the motorola v220 and wondered if you can move the icons on the main screen? as its difficult to see the wallpaper with them stuck in the middle.

how do I stop it beeping?

My Motorola v220 beeps if I press any of the side buttons (accidentally or otherwise), even though the phone is set on silent and vibrate only. How can I stop this?

Can't hear calls

Need help...I can only hear calls when speaker phone is on...nothing oterwise...What can I do to fix this?

Receving Pictures

When somebody tries to attach a picture in a message to me it just sends a text message with a website to visit to view the picture. Why is this?

People say the phones gr8 its just chosing the network, which network has gd reception?!?!? and gd signal plz help me!!!!!!!! 😁

I am looking for an excellent phone with good ringer quality, excellent pictures on the camera, tones, and faceplates. Please feel free to boo this phone or praise this phone! 😉

Startup help :D

Hi,

Just wondering... i got the v220 about 3 weeks ago, and its the same type of phone everybody in my family has, except it has newer firmware (the Startup screen is different and it has different graphics)... anyways, when i got the phone and turned it on for the first time and it made a bubbling noise (yes, i know this is normal, im not stupid)... but now when i turn it on it is completely silent... does anybody know how to turn the startup noises back on?

How do I disable automatic time updates

I am using Cingular and their time servers are about 3 minutes slow of the rest of the world. How can I disable the time from updating from Cingular?

my camera is not working!

i used my camera to capture pictures of last monday's eclipse and now nearly after a week my camera doesn't captures anything all of a sudden!when i try to access my cam a black screen appears!does it means my cam got burnt?!if so how much will it cost to repair it?could any1 help?!plzzz ☹️

keypad dead but turns on, off, receives calls

My daughter picked her phone up with wet hands and now none of the key pads are active. The phone receives calls and she can answer it only if it is closed and she opens it. The on/off button works. I removed battery and sim card and thought it might boot up and reinitialize ane work. No luck

broken screen

i tripped over with my phone in my pocket and when i took it out there was colours all over the screen and cracks, i know this is a cracked screen but does anyone know where i can get it fixed?

Upgrade Ringtones Using USB cable

Hi everyone,

I read the review of this Motorola V220, and someone mentioned about upgrading the ringtones with a digital camera USB cable. I tried it, but the PC didn't recognize the hardware(the phone). Do I need any software to create a driver for the USB cable? How can I transfer a MIDI file to my phone?

do you need a special program or something inorder to put pics from the phone onto the computer??

anyone with first-hand experience of MPT for the v220?

I've got hold of a copy of MPT from a friend in the industry to try it out, and it just won't work. The supplied drivers don't seem to work, so I've tried other v220 USB drivers and no joy. I'd gladly buy the program from Motorola directly, but I'm not going to spend money on it if it's the program that's at fault... anyone got any advice?

Does anyone know how to use different ringtones for different addresses in my address book? Is it even possible with the V220?
