Almost Nailed it
I have had this phone for quite some time now. Everything is great about it except the small keyboard. There is nothing wrong with this phone except the small keyboard. I love to text. I am a college student and prefer a larger keyboard because when I am texting in the car or on the go, the small keyboard is almost impossible to manage. Dialing in the car is almost impossible too. Many of us cell phone users make phone calls in the car and with the small keyboard, it is extremely difficult. All of the apps and user interface is phenomal, but I cant get over the small keyboard. I am currently selling my phone due to this problem. So if you have larger fingers, I do not reccomend this phone.
Good for play
I liked this phone. It was small, easy to pocket if you wanted to, and had excellent functionality.
I'll start with the external of the phone. It has several buttons besides the keyboard, all of which are self explanatory in function. On top is a switch that turns the phone on vibrate, which is nice, but it was hard to toggle. The keyboard consists of minute bumps on each key that makes typing actually easy. I had no trouble typing on it with my thumbs.
When the phone is activated, the red/end key turns the screen on and off, which is slightly annoying when you are used to it closing out of menus, but this is something you could get used to. Also to note, when you turn the screen back on, you have to hit the central button to unlock as a default. Navigating through Palm's menus is a pain, but again, easier as you do it more often. Using the touch screen was easy, but I preferred to use hardkeys the majority of the time.
Included features is where this phone shines. Anything that has to do with the internet this phone excels in. Email was easy to use. Surfing the web was extremely fast on ATT's 3G network. Youtube videos loaded in mere seconds and mobile websites rendered before I could blink.
Pros
3G moves at lightning pace
keyboard is easy to use
touchscreen is a nice feature
screen resolution is comparable to iPhone, but smaller
bluetooth works like it should
micro sd adds much
Cons
Palm software looks and feels old
Camera only took decent pictures
Media player was, well, there
Web pages not meant for mobile didn't work
Overall, an excellent phone for nonbusiness users. If you want business level functionality, go for Windows Mobile or Blackberry. For the average person, this phone works well. Its the smartphone for the averagejoe.
