Sony Ericsson T616
Average Ratings
Very pleased to own this phone
At first, i thought the phone looked kinda weird of it's rectangular shape. I was so used to looking at nokia phones, i didn't open my eyes, till my friend told me the features and let me borrow his phone for a week. i was quite impressed. I'm able to have as many downloaded ringtones on the phone, with th exception of deleting some of the tones that are of no use to me.
Only drawback is the screen. it scratches pretty easily and when you're in the sun, sometimes, it's hard to see the screen.
But overall, I'm glad that i have this phone in my possession. thinking of getting a 2nd one, just in case something happens to this one.
I was hesitant but now am pleased.
When my t68i died last week i was hesitant of getting another Sony Ericsson but since i have had the chance to use the phone for a few days I love it. I have Cingular from the Triad of NC and it works great.
Great phone
I've had this phone for a week and it is so much better than I thought it would be.
Reception is great with Cingular in So. CA. A year ago I had AT&T (GSM) and coverage in my home and surrounding area was horrible.
Battery life is very good.
Camera isn't the greatest, but it's a phone not a digital camera.
Best part is the bluetooth. Unlike Verizon, you can add whatever you want to the phone via bluetooth.
If you are thinking about getting this phone....don't....just go get it.
Customize til your heart's content!
My review differs very little from most every other on here.
The screen is very hard to see in most high light conditions.
Getting a strong reception is a struggle most places outside major cities.
Whoever designed the connectors for the various accessories should be slapped.
Be very careful when plugging in the power cord, car charger, hands-free device, flash component.... the flimsy plastic connector pins break very easily on every accessory. Something Ericsson has done wrong for years.... create a solid connector made out of METAL like every other cellular company in the world!
You can customize every little feature on this phone. Read the manual, it is just plain powerful when it comes to creating a phone aura that is uniquely you.
sweet phone
i ended up getting one of these for free from my company and it is definetly an awsome device it has its shortcomings but overall its a great phone i especially like the ease of use the pictures are good the only problem i have is the screen getting smudged while talking on it i just hope sony ericsson insets the screen a little and adds flash and a zoom feature on future models while keeping the same form and casing all in all i highly recommend this one kudos to sony ericsson for a great package
Long way from Ericsson's beginning
Wow, I after I got this small phone out of the box, I was impressed. The looks of this phone are slick, I've been asked if it was the Matrix phone. The features are great. Everything you can imagine. Even a nice little calculator, but if something's missing, you can just download it. The WAP browser is very nice, easy to use. Cool rings, the RF performance is much much better than anything I've ever had. In NYC on the AT&T system, it really shines with the 850 band. The camera is super cool too.
But it has a dark side...a dark screen in sunlight. I can hardly see the screen while outside on a sunny day. The screen gets dirty and fingerprinty every single time, so I get good use out of that cloth.
I had the Ericsson T28world a while ago, and it was a pretty good phone...but the T616 is so much better than that phone.
Sweet phone
This is a sweet phone. It reminds me of the Nokia 8260 (small, well designed software), but it does so much more. The calendar syncing with Outlook works great, the menus are easy to use (although there are so many options... it's important to learn the shortcut techniques). The sound quality is unreal; in my area (Salt Lake City) the GSM RF is excellent (even at the ski resorts). I put off buying a new phone for a year or two because I'd read the Cons of all the phones. Wish I'd bought this phone when it first came out.
Best Phone For the Money
This is definitely one of the best Sony Ericsson's ever made. It has an excellent camera but pictures cannot be taken at night.
This phone is very customizable because it has themes, wallpapers, screen savers, 32-chord polyphonic ring tones, and a Music DJ for making your own ring tones. The screen is great but you can't see the screen in sunlight. It has 65,000+ colors, which makes pictures very clear. Overall, this phone is one of the best phones on the market and is a must buy for anyone who loves options.
Great features, choppy reception
I own this phone, along with 3 other Cingular GSM phones, and the features are great... Bluetooth capabilities, fantastic camera, accurate voice recognition, and great graphics. However, the signal tends to dip in and out, even when I'm motionless. The V600 will blow this out of the water.
Sweet Phone!
I had previously owned this phone until I traded it in for a Panasonic GU87. That was a mistake. I found myself missing it, with all the features that it has on it. When I first got the T616, I was a little worried that the picture quality would be like the T306. When I saw this one in the stores, I was quite impressed.
Pros:
Bluetooth
Infrared-connects to all phones that compliant
64k color screen
crystal clear camera
light weight in size
Easy to maneuver in menu
Reception under AT&T is great
Volume is good
Button for M-mode
Cons:
Speed Dial is 2 push button
The Pros definitely outweigh the Cons. I consider this the best camera phone that I've had. I've had no problems with it. I recommend this phone to everyone. It's cheap, for all the features that it has.
