MOTOROLA PEBL U6
HI I THINK THE PEBL IS BETTER THAN THE RAZR EVEN KNOW I NEVER HAD A RAZR AND THE PEBL PROBALLY IS BETTER THAN THE V400 V551 V600 V620 V635
PEBL U6
Except for the phenomenal ergonomic form factor, the distinct hinge, and independent voice dialing, this is a brother to the V360. Take special care when using the hinge and opening the phone. If the top flips back very fast, the hinge gets weak over time. Rather open it the generic way. V360 has the digital music player, PEBL does not and the speakerphone though clear like the V360 is somewhat lower. Opening the back battery cover and removing the SIM card is tricky though.
pebl is good
i love motorola phones, and i had used razr and slvr, and i was stuck between krzr and pebl. but then i chose pebl cuz omg i think it's cute :D
i know it's probably too late but i agree with most of other reviewers.. i think pebl is made for perfection, but i have 1 cons.. if only it had a memory card slot like in slvr, it will be a cellphone that is super perfect
Not as good as people think
This phone in my opinion is not as good as it is made out to be.
I have had the phone for about 6 months.
and I am on my second one.
My first PEBL did okay for about 2 weeks.
And I liked it a lot.
The way it looked, performed, etc.
Then I hit problems.
Whenever I tried to access either camera (video or still) My phone would freeze, requiring me to remove the battery, and restart the phone.
This was something I could look past.
Then about 2 weeks later, my earpiece gave out.
I now had to have all my conversations through speaker phone.
This proved to be very bad when I was in a professional setting, and very embarassing.
Now keep in mind, althought I do lead a very physical life, and I tend to go through phones very quickly, I handled my PEBL very gently from the get-go.
I finally gave in and got a replacement from T-Mobile.
The new one I figured would be free of all the previous problems.
and it was
however, it had it's own, NEW problems.
Two days after getting the phone, the speaker phone, ringer, and any sound not coming from the earpiece, ceased to work.
And the phone would freeze almost anytime you hit the "END" button in the middle of something.
I later found the speaker had loose connections, and have to push on the speaker to get it to work (I would get a new one, but T-Mobile refuses to give me a nother phone for free, claiming that I somehow caused all of my problems with the PEBL).
PROS:
Looks neat
Small
Can take a few drops
CONS:
Quick to have software/hardware problems
Very bad service (I think due to a weak antenna)
Rubber coating chips off easily.
T-Mobile, enough said.
Speaker phone cuts out on every PEBL I've ever come across.
Very little memory
Bad Camera
No Voice Note Storage
Slow Operation
Vibrate only works sometimes.
Help moto?
Scrolling around MENU - (very slow. all motorolas are slow at this. even text messaging terrible. It takes me 5 minutes to complete a 160 character text. Where as nokia, it take me less than a minute.
Motorola phones, got the best voice quality/reception.
I only use this phone when i feel like being cute and adorable.
Great Phone
Background - with T-Mobile in Phoenix, AZ
Also I bought it through my company that has a corporate plan with T-Mobile. I only paid $100.
I bought the phone a few months ago. When looking for a phone I was interested in good sound quality and unique form factor.
I don't care about camera features as I already own one. Data isn't my biggest priority as I only occasionally use the feature.
Base on what I was looking for this phone is great.
Pro -
Great sound quality. It even picks up signals where my old Sanyo phone on Sprint couldn't get a signal.
Good battery life
Great looking phone and feels great in the hand. After looking at the dummy models in the store I had some concern over durability. However the actual phone is much sturdier than it appears in the store. Especially the hinge.
Good screen. I haven't found any problems using it in the sunlight. It might depend on what wall paper that is used.
Con -
The UI seems to be a little awkward compared to the Sanyo UI.
Can't do single digit dialing off numbers stored to SIM card. Have to store frequent dialed numbers to the phone memory.
Unique and Conservative
I purchased the Pebl 4 months ago after longing for the phone for months (Dec 05). To date, I have been thoroughly impressed: So has everyone else. Every time I pull the phone out to use it someone makes a comment. I then show them how to open it and it takes me awhile to get it back (they show everyone else). Warning! This phones takes some time to get used to it’s idiosyncrasies! For one: they way the phone opens takes some getting used to. I’ve had cell phones since the mid 90’s and this is the 1st one that hit the ground so many times. HOLD ON TO YOUR PHONE! Until you get used to how much pressure it takes to hold it while opening, it spring loaded and will jump out of your hand! Good thing that with a slightly damp cloth (I use the same special tissue that I clean my glasses with) all traces of fingerprints and scratches disappear. The keys also take a little getting used to by some.
Pro’s: Style, ergonomics, functionality, reception, (I get reception in the Boston subway on most stops) clarity of voice and battery life! I charge my phone every 2-3 days… (I text 50 -60 times a day and I’m a cell hog- the guy you see driving, walking and ordering Starbucks with my cell to my ear- but never offensive I was taught etiquette.) For those of you who wear suites like I do, you don’t have to worry about fraying or wearing the pocket out!!! Or people seeing the phone in your pocket either
Con’s: If you want a digital camera purchase one! Screen can’t be seen in direct sunlight. You will forget what pocket you put the thing in! If you put entries on your SIM card you will have to make multiple entries and no special ring tones for those important people/clients!
All in all, I can’t complain. It has been a GREAT phone. I’m a Marine so everything/one needs improvement!
I Own Many Phones and this is a MUST HAVE
Yes i must say that Motorola has done it again with their style! They first launch the Razr that has been a true hit in the world of the age of young and old, and again they did it with the Motorola Pebl! This is the first model of the Pebl and is becoming very popular! I really enjoy having this phone. It is a very calm nice smooth design that i never get tired of. The material on the outside feels like some what of a cheap leather. I would recommend this phone to a younger age, but a mature child at that! Yes it is very cute and, some what of a sexy phone. But all phones must have some downs...
Goods-
-Large Display
-Sleek Design
-Wonderfully Color
-Much like the Razr
-Good price from T-Mobile
-All around aw some phone
Bads-
-Easily Greasy
-Funky Keypad
-poor use of a VGA camera
To top this off with a cherry the Motorola Pebl is a very good phone, and will become well known and comes in many colors!
i love this phone!
I bought this phone in pink, unlocked from e-bay. The only problem I had was getting tmobileweb and t-zones to work on the phone, but once I got that worked out it works perfectly!
PROS:
-feels nice in your hand
-looks great
-opening mechanism makes it easy to open with one hand
-voice quality is better
-you can hear the other person clearly
-no dropped calls yet (my last phone, nokia 6101 dropped em a lot)
-can upload songs from your computer to use as ringtones
-can upload pictures from your PC
-decent battery life, lasts several days
-there are more, just cant think at the moment
CONS:
-fingerprints everywhere!!!
The best phone I have ever owned.
This is my eighth mobile phone. I have had Nokia and Motorola exclusively.
I like Nokia's menu better, but I like Motorola Phone design better.
The PEBL is the best phone I have ever owned. I can't think of any downside, except that you can't store voice notes, you have to send them.
I had to choose between the RAZR and PEBL. My brother-in-law has a RAZR. I have played around with it and it is almost identical to the PEBL, but I like the PEBL better, and incidentally, so does he.
