Motorola RAZR2 V9m

Battery woes
Well, my old 1992 Motorola Startac has been blacklisted by Verizon, so I splurged and got the V9M. What great features - more than I'll use or understand. But the battery!!!
Standby time of 10-12 days? Mine made it about 10 hours after full charge. This repeated over several days.
No problem, said the Verizon store, here's a new phone with new battery. Same thing is happening.
The extended-life battery is $50, and it claims 50% improved life. What should I do?
Razr2 Verizon
OK so I have had a E815 for ever and I loved it. But it was time for a upgrade.
I really like this phone it's sleek, smooth, very comfortable to hold and I just love looking at it. I think other than no flash the camera and the video is great. I filmed my son at football practice last night and all the guys were amazed. All and all it's hot.
CONS some of the cons others have mentioned do not bother me in the slightest bit. The one issue that no one can deny is the BATTERY LIFE. I think it just stinks. The question or I should say the answer is when it's that thin how much life can you have. Not sure if I should keep it and get a bigger battery, or just return it and go back to old faithful E815. Any suggestions are welcome.
Its ok i guess
Awhile back when I went to upgrade I had the choice of this and the MOTOROLA KRAZR. I tested this at the Verizon store, and I quite obviously liked the Krazr more. I was debating getting this, and then it was discontinued.
The one reason I didn't buy this sooner is because I read on websites on the reviews (and on here) of frequent freezing. This happened with the Krazr, so I chose something to fix something, but instead still had the same issue.
So, I would've gotten this phone, but the glitching, the freezing and the freaking out on this phone (rumored) caused me to get the Krazr, but I had freezing and the phone rebooting on the Krazr. The one thing the Krazr was, was durable. The RAZR 2v9m had a full glass front, all glass, and this had a smaller front screen so small front glass = not so much glass to crack, as I tend to drop my phones, NEVER DID CRACK THE GLASS IN OWNERSHIP JUST SCRAPED IT ALL UP.
So I've never experienced this phone, so your opinion COULD be different than mine. I currently have the RAZR v3m and It seems to be much better with the freezing, any phone is going to do that, wether it be a short of memory, or a dropped call. Ther'es something to cause it.
So far so good
I've been using the Razr2 for the past month with U.S.Cellular in Chicago. The only thing I didn't like
was I could only get about 12 hours out of the battery
with the 1X network, but after USCC turned up their
EVDO network last Monday, I now get 3 whole days
out of a charge! I was going to purchase an extended
battery but now I don't have to. Although if you are
way out in a rural area with a weak signal, you will
find it back to 1X and searching for EVDO which will
quickly drain your battery. No other problems so far.
No freeze-ups or blank screens etc. The USCC color
gold looks really sharp; I get comments from everyone
about how expensive it looks. I have always owned
Motorola (5th phone) with no major problems and
hope they stick around as I prefer them over every
other brand other than Nokia or Sony-E.
Nice
This phone was crazy! I showed it off all the time, but it did have some drawbacks.
Pros

Looks (very very sharp)
HUGE outside screen
big buttons
Loud musiz player
good vibrate
quick charge
Cons
Low batt life
Motorola software issues
Price (I wouldn't of forked out $280 for it)
No application manager (Sprint)
Razr2
This phone has good things and bad things. It has great graphics and the screen is beautiful. Great internet speed great call quality, great sprint tv. All that is good. But this phone doesn't work right. The buttons forget what they do, it is terribly slow, it freezes and it is just not a very good phone for a texter or someone who isn't a 35-40 year old who doesn't do much besides call.
Good phone but not for texting
This phone is so great but im a big texter and it just doesn't fit me to well.
Pro's
good camera
i love the touch screen
good for music
very loud
Con's
cracks easy (1st time i dropped it)
not good on texting
short battery life
gets dirty to easy
touch screen (music comes on by itself
RAZR2V9M
What a great phone! I have this thru US Cellular here in Iowa! After reading all of the reviews I decided it was time to try one! Honestly, excellent reception! No dropped calls! The battery life is not the greatest! I have it conditioned as per what most folks say to do! Exactly as that and it still drops in battery strength. I am by no means a heavy caller or texter..but it is without any reservations a highly-recommeded cell phone! Happy using to all who have one!
A good replacement for my V710
Well, my V710 finally gave up the ghost after about 3 and 1/2 years. I must say, it was the best phone I ever owned. I had already been doing some research on a new phone since I was well past the 2 year free phone thing. I'm with Verizon. So I got it down to the V9M and the Z6W. Decided to go ahead with the high end V9m. Besides, I have big fingers and that Z6W is pretty small. To make a long story short, looks like I did well. I am very happy with the V9M. I had a lot of MP3 ring tones of my own on my V710 and really wanted to save them. I just enjoy having a custom ring tone for all the people I care about. I would have hated it if I had to go with simple little musical jingles that come with the phone. So it took some doing but I was able to get all my ring tones onto the V9m. On top of that I feel this phone is at least equal to the v710 in signal and overall performance. I know battery has been an issue for some. While the battery indicator does seem to go down quicker then my old V710, in reality it lasts longer, and I had the extended use battery on that one. I use my phone daily with about and hour or so of talk time and the phone is turned on from the time I get up till I go to bed. I recharge about every 2 days. So for my money this is a great phone!
pros - sturdy, good signal, reasonable battery life
cons - yes the shinny surface smudges
Motorola's Coming Back
I currently have this phone with Verizon and have had it since October of 2007. I have to say that this is one of the best phones that Motorola has come out with in a while.
Pros:
-Awesome call quality
-2 MP camera is decent
-Feels sturdy in your hand
-Very thin!
-Huge front display with convenient touch keys
-Volume on this phone is amazing
-Speakerphone works well
Cons:
-Everytime you drop it the battery cover comes off
-Smudges very easily
-Battery life is acceptable but sometimes very short lived
-Memory card is once again behind the battery
This phone has been a great phone so far and I would really recommend it to people who are starting to lose their faith in Motorola!
