Glitchy Phone

Nov 24, 2003 by FrankieJ03

So far I have had this phone for about 6 months. With in the first month of having this phone, it had started to act up. Some of the problems that I have had include;
Missed Calls
Freezing
Restarting itself
Turning itself off.
I am currently with Verizon. So far they have refused to give my any help with these problems. As of recently I had to use my insurance on the phone because it was getting so bad. Surprise, the phone that they sent me has the exact same problems. When I called up Verizon they feed me the same line of B.S.
I don't suggest this phone to any one who is looking to purchase a phone.

Best phone I've ever had!

This is undoubtedly the best cell phone I've ever had. I have gone through about 5 cellphones in the past 2 years and this one is the best. The color screen is the brightest and clearest on any phone I've had. The keys are all well placed and intuitive after you get used to it. I do about 500 + text messages a month and that feature is very important to me. This is the easiest phone to txt with that I have had. The only bad thing about it is that after you've typed out a long txt message, the phone seems to slow down in its' ability to type fast. Other than that, a GREAT phone!

The LG Is Phonetastic

The LG is a great phone packing in all of the latest features a cell phone has to offer. Tip calculator, world clock and voice activated dialing are the tip of the iceburg on this amazing phone. LG went out of their way to provide an amazing phone for a reasonable cost. Thank you LG and thank you US Cellular for providing amazing service.

One Word: AWESOME!

Coming from the VX-1, this phone is a VAST improvement. All functions work well and call quality and RF are the same as my VX-1 (and I was VERY happy with its performance) if not better. The only slight downside I see at this point is that the ringer at its lowest setting is still quite loud (this is an improvement over previous Verizon LG "low ringer" problems, but they may have gone too far with the volume level this time, but better too loud than not loud enough).

If you are looking for a color phone with an easy to navigate menu system, performs many wireless functions and solid build quality THEN THIS IS THE PHONE FOR YOU!

What a Great Phone!

Very impressed with my VX-4400! Excellent quality, sound and reception. This phone is a winner. I traded in my T720 and very very happy! The only thing that could be better is the ring tones, but I think I can download some better ones. Go out and get this phone, you will not be disappointed.

The best I have tried

Great reception, even in fringe areas (including analog). Call clarity is excellent. Great features, and even large buttons for those of us with big fingers!

It was a great phone.

I had this model for over two years. I loved this phone. The only issue was the loudness of the ringers. There was only one ringer I could really hear when driving my truck.

I first got it when I was away spending time in a hospital when my father was very sick. I has a sprint with no coverage, and I needed to go on-line with my laptop to remote into my system at work.

So I switched to Verizon and the 4400. I used it as a modem on my laptop, and it worked great from the family comfort suite at the hospital where I stayed for a week.

While one might find a little cheaper plan then verizon, I probably never switch. I now have family plan with wife and 14yo daughter.

The phone served my well. I just upgrade to the 8100, which is much more awesome.

Not Much Bad To Say

Well it has almost been two years since I first got my VX4400 and it has performed great from the beginning. I love the VX4400's features and menus. I especially love the outer LCD screen. You don't have to open the phone to get the most important info like who's calling, reception level, time and date and even battery level.

The only bad thing I can say about the VX4400 is the ringers, they suck! But that is easy to fix with GetItNow or by just ordering a data cable from EBay. The data cable along with BitPim (free program easily found on a google search) allows for easy uploads of midi files that can be used as ringtones.

Two years ago when I got the phone, the selling point for me was its tri-mode ability. The VX6000 was the phone I originally was going to purchase, mainly because of its camera. But because it was all digital, the VX4400 won out. Now looking back, I hate the VX6000's outer display and was happy I got the VX4400.

Time is near for a new phone, although I can't tell you which model I will decide on, I can tell you it will be a LG something.

Great Phone

I've had this phone for about 2 years and really love it. I previously had nokia and motorola phones and this has been the best phone I've ever owned. It's very durable- I have beat the hell out of this phone! I cracked the plastic display by slamming it on a corner, also have dropped it many times on cement, carried it in my purse without a case....you get the picture. Organizer is great, I use the schedule all the time.

The ringtones do suck but I just downloaded good ones. I wish it had speaker phone, that would be my biggest complaint. I've had people tell me they hear an echo but I have no idea if that is the phone's fault or US cellular.

I'm scared to get a new phone because I like this one so much.

Retiring an old friend

I used this phone for the past 2 years for both personal and business functions. I have never felt the need to upgrade from this phone until I renewed my contract and they basically threw a new Motorola E815 at me for free.

Pros: This phone is robust. I've dropped this phone numerous times on busy streets. The only damage it's suffered are some superficial nicks to the casing.

I tend to have no problems with sound quality with 1 of 4 bars of signal and the volume setting was adequate for easy conversation and taking a call in a crowded area.

I used to live in NC and traveled around the southeast, the west coast, and finally moved to the Midwest. There's only been once place I've had my calls completely dropped, which is ~20 miles from the edge of any major city. Everywhere else, the phone has worked fine, across the US, using the Verizon Network.

The battery performs as advertised. I only charge my phone twice a week unless I have had a busy week call wise.

Cons: Sometimes the battery will give the low battery warning right before it dies, but usually gives you a few minutes to find a charger.

The software initially gave me trouble due to the numerous, but I got used to it after a month. Lots of options for those that care (I don't).

Somewhat heavy for a phone. Usually don't have a problem carrying it around in my pocket, but it's a noticeable load on my belt when I use the holster.

The last complaint I have is that if you somehow got onto the roaming network, it takes awhile to get back onto the normal network even if you turn the phone on and off.

I originally picked this phone b/c I wanted a robust flip phone that had good sound quality for business, but was also robust enough shell and battery wise for travel and personal use. It lived up to my expectations and I will be sad when I stop using it next week.
