Great Phone! How to get your own Ringtone!
A great phone, and fun to learn how to use. Great sound and photos! Haven't had a call dropped yet! Also, you can get do your own ring tones by holding the CLR or microphone button on the front cover. Then record a new sound, text it to yourself, and save as a new ringtone...and enjoy!!!!
Voyager...So far
Ok, This is only the second day that I have had the voyager, so I am only commenting on what I know. So far this is the best phone I have had with Verizon Wireless. I have had the Motorola v60s, Lg 5200, Audiovox 8615, LG 8300 and Samsung u740.
PROS:
Touchscreen is awesome, very responsive
Internal QWERTY keyboard is the perfect size(on the u740 it was a little smaller and easier to misspell words.
Love it
I've owned the Voyager for about 24 hours or so now, and I love it! This is my 4th LG phone after having owned the VX10, the VX6000 and the VX5200 in the past. It was a very much needed upgrade from my Razor V9M, which was a pain in the you know what.
Pros:
-Touch screen and full keyboard are cool, although both initially take some getting used to.
-Call quality is good
-Camera takes pretty decent quality pics for a phone
-Big selection of ringtones
-Very sturdy and well-built...in the commercial/other ads I thought that it looked a little flimsy, almost like it's 100% plastic. But check it out in person at a Verizon store and you will see that looks can be deceiving.
-You can play Guitar Hero and Sonic the Hedgehog on it! lol
Cons:
-Unlike the iPhone, it is EXTREMELY hard to scroll up or down using the touch screen. I have to use the keyboard in order to do it. I really think that LG should have added up/down arrows to the sidebars to make it a little easier.
-Alot of potential for fingerprints (I haven't taken the plastic off the phone yet), but that is to be expected being that the phone has a touchscreen.
Otherwise...great job LG!
Great Phone
I can't really get into Pros and Cons. No, it is not an IPhone, but it is a great phone. If you are leaning toward getting it, I say buy it. I had the Env and this is so much better a phone.
The Best Verizon Phone To Date!
I have had this phone for three weeks and I like it more each time I use it. The call quality and touch screen are excellent. Get yours today!
iPhone "Wannabee"
Though I own an iPhone for business, I use Verizon Wireless for person use. I wanted a phone that closely matched the features of the iPhone. The LG Voyager, on paper, came close.
After a few days using it, I assure you it is not an iPhone equivalent. However it is a keeper until the iPhone is offered to Verizon users. Plus it offers some features missing from the current iPhone.
Take, for instance, the GPS location feature. It, along with VZ Navigator, makes the Voyager a portable GPS system (saving me $700 which I was going to spend on a TomTom 720).
If you activate 3G Broadband Access on the Voyager, it costs you $60/month but speeds up internet browsing. However, when I tested it with DSL Reports (mobile test), the speed increased to only 420Kbps (from 150Kbps in National Access mode). I never saw 1.4Mbps regularly attained by the Verizon Broadband ExpressCard in my laptop.
BTW, the Phone Memory of the Voyager is showing a total of 184MB. (The Phone Scoop did not list this.) Compare that to 8GB standard on the iPhone. However, you can add a MicroSD 8GB card to the Voyager for about $100.
Another person with mixed feelings
Well let me start off with my voyager launch day experience. I went in in around 10:00a.m. thinking I'm going to just walk in, grab one and walk out... riiiiiiiiiight. I had to battle all of the bratty spoiled college girls in there buying these things at full price without a new every two (NET). This is a good phone but I am not 100% sold on it and in no way is this comparable to an iphone... other than it has a touch screen. My latest phones include the Moto razr, LG 86, and 8700.
CONS:
Battery life. Come on guys the battery really does stink.
No speaker phone unless the phone is open.
Yes I know how the scroll works and how to calibrate it but it stinks.
Ringers are kinda low when the phone is closed and blow your head off when its open.
Phone has way to many factory default lock settings that you can not bypass.
Touch screen is sometimes unresponsive to touch... why is this verizon its a touch screen right?
Kinda boring UI
Camera phone is slow and my zoom does not work. It either doesn't have one or its a factory fowl up, i did read the manual to see how it works.
There are other cons but are so minor they are not worth listing.
PROS:
Looks, vanity was strongly considered when designing this phone.
Tools, the tolls are available and easy to. i.e. calendar, alarm clock, calculator, and the voice commands work great.
The cute little v cast stuff is really fast.
Text, picture, and video messages are sent and received lightning fast.
Ringers are plenty and pretty just not loud enough.
Qwerty key board is amazing and a really nice change.
I hardly use the external screen because the internal is so convenient and solid, there are no accidental mistakes like the external display.
The camera even though it is 2.o mega pixels it is really clear.
The UI is kinda boring but extremely easy to use and all the phones features are easy to find and use.
All in all its a solid phone with its pros and cons.
Da Voyager Yo
Pretty good phone wish it was a bit smaller but worth it for the awesome qwerty. Wish default text entry mode on internal screen was Abc instead of abc but what you gonna do. Touch screen could be a little bit better, not quite as responsive as the iphone. All in all a nice phone definitely not an iphone killer though.
Voyageristic!!
All together the most packed phone I ever seen games .TV,GPS,keyboard,mp3,EVDO,touch interface ,HTML browser,Great email, tis are all PROS. if you could not tell
Con-1 the touch interface is not very tactical
