latest batch have BAD battery life
"very poor battery life. Phone purchased in NYC, US from Cingular Store on 5/22/06; battery does not last more than 30 hours, even in standby/non-use. Phone has: R7CA017 firmware, backlight is turned down lowest, I do not use the walkman feature,do not use IM, Web or other grps svcs. avg 1 or 2 calls/day. Phone was charged for 12 hours before using, do not use bluetooth accessories. do not use camera much (1 picture every other day),
Please advise. Can you provide a new battery or advise a long life battery? Can you provide new firmware?"
Great Phone!
I just got this phone last month and gave it awhile, before submitting my review LOVE this phone! It has awsome features.Quite cheap to buy and did I mention the features? You can't get a better phone for the money.yes the user menu is a lil tough to get used to,but all in all I recommend this phone.I use a regional carrier called Sun-com and have yet dropped a call. The speaker phone works great. The camera takes decent pix for a cell phone. It has a great battery life and this White screen of death thing people complain about hasn't yet happened to me.I guess they should have waited till they had worked all the bugs out before they bought one all new electronics have bugs and glitches when they first come out.the only thing I don't like about the phone is theres no memory expansion but other then that theres nothing wrong with the phone that i can see
w600i
My w600i is great. I have had many phones in my life time and this one is one of the top 4. I really like the phone alot. I want to thank all the users that left reviews because that is what made me want to buy the phone more. i dont have any cons with this phone if you like the the phone go out and buy it Thanks
Needs a little Work!
I Really like this phone, the FM radio is nice, the walkman is great! I love the camera and it is so easy to hook it up to my pc and print out the pics. I really enjoy the swivel form factor but what i don't like about this phone is the fact that it is bright freakin orange, and the screen quality. since the covers are changeable i got myself a blue one right away. but still like i said the screen quality isn't all that. I wish they could come out with a RAZR-like S-710. That would by far be the perfect phone for me. just make it really thin, big screen, and swivel style.
Good Job SE!
I haven't touched a Sony Ericsson since the T68i. Man... I'm impressed, they've come a long way. I am quite happy with my new w600i. I have had no problems what so ever in the two weeks I've had it. I don't use it for a music phone...I'll leave that to my iPod and nano. I think that there should be removable memory but unfortunately there isn't. I switched from a Nokia 7610(b) to this, I'll admit it might not be a smart phone but it sure looks and feels better. The phone's only other downside besides the removable memory is the camera. It's good but it could be better... why isn't Sony helping out on perfecting the camera's abilities?
Had it and it was a delight.
I'm giving this phone a 4 out of 5 because the obvious lack of an memmory expansion slot.
The 256mb is good enough for a walk around the block, but I'd have loved it to able to hook up a 512mb or even a 1024(1gig) mmc or memmory stick(duo) and rocked on with a few hundred songs.
Other then that, the phone is exceptional. The camera (1.3mpx) is good but lacks in quality when theres lo light. I've used this phone to take a picture outside when it was cloudy and the pictures came out uber poor. So the camera itself isnt so great, but its good.
The music functions are superb. Hardware buttons which allow you to directly open the music player instead of having to fumble through the menu is great.
So overall the pros are, good music quality, decent pictures in BRIGHT light, nice phone design.
Cons are no memmory expansion, bad quality pictures in lo or no light situations, and some times the earphones come in the way when you open the phone.
I'd reccomend this phone to anyone who's up for a decent phone WITH mp3 capabilities. But if you already own a decent phone and a good mp3, dont make the switch because you'd be better off with the W600i or the W800i!
AWESOME PHONE!
PROS:
I Just recently purchased the w600i phone from Sony Ericsson. Love the phone. Great reception, great camera, great MP3. I could go on and on about this phone. The sound quality is excellent. The speaker phone works great. Battery life is excellent. You will want to get this phone.
CONS:
Right now I have no complaints about this phone.
I Like it...a lot!
I got this phone about a month and a half ago, and I am very impressed.
Pros: mp3 player, loud speakers and headset, holds tons of contacts, cool graphics, unique, nice screen, good battery
I travel a lot, and it is so nice to have my phone and mp3 player in one. The battery life lasts forever and I listen to my music for hours and play games!
Cons: thick body, very little memory, no expansion, shells are boring/ugly, themes are boring as well
One time I was trying to call someone, and they called me at the same time, so I tryed to answer, and my vibrate kept going off and wouldn't stop. I had to end the call, shut my phone off (it still wouldn't stop), and then finally I took the battery out and it stopped. I haven't experienced this problem since then, but it scared me.
Very good piece of equipment
I've had this phone for a couple of weeks and conclude that if you are looking for a phone that can play music while you're working out, take decent pics for emailing, and still be an excellent phone then this is it. I've read some reviews that complain about the lack of memory expansion but I don't see that as a problem. Listen to some music then just delete and replace..it's super easy to transfer the files and doesn't take long at all. It's a little weird to get used to the rotation..the only way to do it evidently is to hold the phone upside down then rotate, otherwise it's upside down. But after programming contacts, you don't really need to use the keypad except for messaging anyway, so after awhile it's not a big deal. Texting is a little cumbersome as the phone is a little top heavy when the keyboard is exposed. Reception with Cingular or T-Mobile is excellent and ease of use is superb..sony's website will download any settings needed and it works immediately.
Pros: Super user friendly, nice appearance, menu is easy to use, great sound quality for music, bluetooth works perfectly-no static and good range (40' or so).
Con: A little heavy and fat, but the phone has so many features, it's unavoidable. Entering text is not as easy as on my Nokia due to top heavy when opened.
Best phone I've owned though and I've been a Nokia only person til now.
