What a waste!!!!
I thought that with changing the flip design to so-called slider design will finally resolve all Samsung phones' biggest issue, which is the horrible sound quality. So that was the reason why i decided to try this so-called slider. Well, I was wrong!
LET'S FINALLY PUT IT SIMPLE:
Samsung cellular phones SUCK when it comes to the main function of the phone: Making and Receiving clear calls!
The party I was talking to can hear me cristal clear (means: good microphone). But I couldn't hear the person clearly and the sound was too noicy.
I don't care about 1.3mp (which is bytheway the worsest of all other 1.3mp), MP3 ringtones, player, games, and other bullcrapo when the phone can't perform well as a phone! SHAME ON - SAMSUNG!!!!!!!!!!!!
It deserves a strong 2.0 score!
Great Phone..Still has some Problems Though.
Dont get me wrong...i got the phone when it came out and i was excited to get it...but then all of a sudden it started to mess up like my phone would ring normaly but when i pick it up i couldnt hear you from the reciever but you end up hearing me on the other line....i brought it back to T-Mobile to get an exchange of the same phone...even though this ordeal had happened to me i still think that this phone is a quality phone you just have to learn how to maintain it....
not worth the money!
i HAD this phone for about a week but there were so many problems with it i had to return it. the phone is extremely -s l o w- its a slider (as you can see form the pictures( but the phone has trouble recognizing when it has been slid open!!! i had a call from my boss and i had it on auto answer and when i slid it open it took around 4 seconds before it did anything and by that time my boss hung up the phone. not to mention its very ugly, the screen is big but it doesn't make up for it. overall it was one of the biggest wastes of money i've had in a while.
pro's:
nice screen (size wise)
good stereo speakers
slim form factor
can's:
slow speed
ugly look
horrible camera
cheap feel
speaker phone stinks
slider
overall i regret my experience with this phone
Great Phone
This Phone is "Top Flight" Everything on this phone is great the only improvements i would suggest is the speakers are not as loud as some of my other phones.
AVOID THIS Samsung SGH-T809 / SGH-D820 AT ALL COST
this phone is horrible, the camera on the phone will be loosely after about a month or so. Beside is a copy cat of the RAZR V3. Whoever buy this phone is a wanna be but can't afford the real phone like the RAZR V3. The signal will drop constantly, therefore, missing phone call will be common. The Bluetooth don't seem to be working right after about 2 weeks, and the phone will freeze up like a computer after trying to active the bluetooth from the menus. AVOID THIS PHONE PLEASE BUY SOMETHING ELSE, ANYTHING BUT THIS SAMSUNG.
read all about it
lets start withe the bad news first the batt life is s--ty last a half a day at the most the charge port should only be the charge port let the ear and usb maybe use the same spot but not the charge the camera is nice but a flash would put it at the top of the list can not change the ringers for the txt's dust in the screen if you see it don't wait to see what happens take it back screen will either crack or go out move the mic up to the tmobile sign or paint the tmobile sign over the mic just move it up for a clearer voice the ofset ear is not a good idea for those who use their shoulder to talk and to multi task make it so you can leave the slide down and still take a pic
other then that its ok but wait till its offerd as a free phone in a promotion cant wait for the sk3
Amazing phone! the Best
I have had this phone for 3 months now and I can tuly say it is the best phone out there.
I have owned the w600i very displeased with that one.
Pros:
MicroSD memory card reader I put a 1GB card in there for my music and video clip.
Camara is great for a phone anyway.
Text are easy the words sort themselvs out when you type so no need to search for the letters easy to text.
Has an instant messanger program witch does help..
The size is great and I lke the flip up effect.
Con:
Battery life isint to great but amoong the samsung series I would say this one has the longest battery life..
Its rumored to break easily but I have droped it pleanty of times and no problems yet...
Hope this helps..
Class Action Lawsuit Needed for this phone!!!!!
I have had two of these phones now and both collected TONS of dust under the screen right away. I have seen nothing but complaints all over the net about this as well
We need a class action lawsuit here!!! I hope a law-firm employee is reading this!!!
T-mobile will send you a replacement FOR $10 SHIPPING with NO GUARANTEE that it won't happen again when you get the dust. I would literally need to exchange 3-4 phones a WEEK to ensure that I didn't have dust under the screen.
Please urge law-firms to look into this if you feel the same way. A $300 phone that leaks dust and then you need to continually need to pay for replacement shipping for phones is a waste.

uhh.... yeeeaaahhh....
ok... first, let me start off by saying it's possibly just me and i'm extremely unlucky. ok... review time :
pros - nice slider, great screen, buttons are easy to use, camera takes good pics, video record lenth is limited only to memory available.
cons - well... lets just say the fact that i have had 4 of these phones go bad in 4 monthes... yeah. big con. it seems that either im a completely unlucky fellow and have recieved 4 defective phones, or there is a big design flaw. the first phone i had would restart anytime i put anything into the calendar (reminders, appt, schedules, etc.). i thought it was normal, maybe just needed to "reboot" for changes to take effect. turns out that isn't the case, did exchange. new phone worked great, for exactly 1 month. woke up one morning to find the phone constantly restarting and wouldn't get past the samsung "splash" screen. returned the phone. got another phone, died of the exact same thing exactly 1 month later... im now on my 4th one of these phones. BTW all of these exchanges were after 2/6/06.
I ended up having to call t-mobiles corporate office in Bellvue, WA to get a manager that could actually do something about my problem. customer care said my 2 options were (1) get another t-809, (2) get the t-635. why? i paid 282 for the t-809... anyway, im getting a SDA in 3 days (only cost me $50 because of my t-809 problems. I'll write another review for the SDA when i get that. anyway, moral of the story... beware of this phone... it could cost you time, money, and a great deal of aggrivation constantly putting in your contacts, appt, and customizing of the phone.
