LG VX-7000
Average Ratings
Like it a LOT so far...
Despite what everyone else says, this phone is NOT big! It's about 1/4-1/3 inch longer than the A670, and almost exactly the same size as the 8900. There is a tradeoff when you want a phone with a KILLER screen - you lose the small factor. For me, this is good - it's the first flip phone i've seen that actually brings the microphone down to my mouth, so you actually feel like you're on a hardline phone. Personally, i like this. And, it's virtually the same weight as the A670, despite being bigger. The size makes if fit wonderfully in my hand. I like it. Very solid.
Both screens are fantastic. Unlike the 670, you can see even the outside one in daylight.
I also like the milti-color LED for incoming calls. Kinda cool.
Ringers are LOUD. Much louder than my Sanyo on Sprint. I don't know why people have said they aren't...
Vibrate can be turned on at all ringer volumes. Again, this is another nice feature.
I haven't had a VZW phone before, so I can't compare its signal strength to anything else. My sprint actually had better coverage in certain areas, but i don't know. I'll have to compare this to my GF's Slider and see how it does.
One drawback - the price. I'm using my 14 days to see if this is worht the 80 bucks more than the Samsung. Right now, it seems to.
If only my number porting fro sprint would complete so i can receive calls and not just make them!
A worthy successor to the 6000
This phone makes a vast improvement over the 6000.
The first thing you'll notice is the external LCD screen, which has been upgraded from the gimmicky scrolling OLED on the 6000. This external screen can be used as a viewfinder for taking pictures while the clamshell is closed, and can display picture caller ID.
When you open the phone, you'll notice that the display is also a noticeable improvement over the 6000. It is certainly among the best in its class. Compared to the a670, it is as sharp if not sharper, though it is a bit less bright.
Construction is impeccable, much better than the 6000, but in keeping with LG's phones being light. This phone is not heavy like a Samsung. The phone is slightly larger than the 6000, though for me decidedly better looking. I personally don't like phones with too much curve. The 7000's boxiness seems classy to me.
The camera on this phone may be the same resolution, but too many people take this without even thinking. Though the resolution is the same, the color quality and overall quality of the camera has been improved. Also, there are more features, you can swivel the camera to take a picture toward you or away from you, there is a flash, "nightmode," and not to mention the screen makes all pictures easier to view than on the 6000.
What really matters, call quality and features, are the same as any other LG. Clear voice, simple menus, excellent reception. This is why I did not mention those in length.
Pros:
-More solid construction, but still lightweight
-Larger external color LCD
-Main LCD is beautiful
-Camera is improved, swivels, can be used while clamshell is closed
-Ringers are loud and clear, Vibrate can be felt
-Battery life is slightly improved
-Reception, call quality are excellent as you would expect from LG's line
-WAP 2.0
Cons:
-Still no extendable antenna
-If you don't like the blue color, there are no other options
-All digital (if that matters to you)
-Signal meter is 4 bars, tricks people to think it's weaker
Best Phone Yet!
I have had this phone for three days and the phone seems to be solid.
Pros: light wight, great display, one of the best that I seen yet, camera and video work well, the camera works well but after using the flash in the dark I would have to say this is the best camera phone that I have used with a flash to date. I was very impressed that the video clips have sound I think that makes the video clips well worth while.
Cons: Didn't come with a desk top charger, signal strength is not as good as I hoped for.
Over all I think the LG VX 7000 is a great phone and is worth while considering.
big things sometimes do come in small, two-toned packages
LG has created a great product! Initially, I bought the Samsung a670 - a great little phone packed with lots of features â but thatâs where it ended for me. The battery life was mediocre, and glitches in the software became annoying. At first I thought I had a defective phone, so I returned it for another a670, and that one did the same thing. I saw a non-working model of the LG VX7000 in a VZ retail stores in DC - I wasn't impressed. But I needed another phone, so I told the VZ rep to send me the VX7K since it was their latest product offering. After charging and turning it on, I was very impressed! I thought, âThis little two-toned phone is tight!â The call quality and reception in DC are great â considering it is a phone before all other things. Man, Iâve been âsleepingâ on LG - but not anymore.
No "cons", but I can think of a few nice-to-haves: 1) Bluetooth, 2) speaker-independent dialing (don't have to train voice), and 3) full-duplex speakerphone. The VX8K will have a speakerphone, but I didn't see any of my other wish list items.
Easy to use
What a great phone! First thing I tried was to get to Verizon's Get It Now services to download a tune. Didn't read any of the info material that came with the phone, just surfed my way through the menu by following the icons. Pretty simple, worked fine and fast. The sound is great!
Like the look of the menus. Straight forward and fun. Won't go for any Motorolas no more.
This Phone is best Except For......
The LgVx 7000 is great ( picture/ video recorder quality, and all features of phone) except that its not Bluetooth Capable. The maker, LG, needs to get with it fast because Bloothtooth is definitely on the rise and consumers are going to want this capablity.(HINT:Sign up with Verizon Wireless for this phone or any phone model thats avavilable through Verizon, you will get more out of the features because Verizon has the best coverage availablity even with all the other carriers merging)
Pros: Great Camera (which has rotating head)
Easy to use Video Recorder( which plays back sound ias well)
Nice External Display Screen( which displays picture of caller)
Nice Inside Screen ( for downloading through Verizon's Get It Now, and VZW Today viewing)
Basic Menu features are easy to work for anyone
Cons: Not Bluetooth Capable
I Love this phone
I got mine on the 31st and love it so far. The Pros that I think are great are the size, the clarity, and the sound.
The only Con that I can find is the lack of a desktop charger, I think it will be difficult for LG to make one considering the charging methods of the 7000.
I say BUY IT!
AWESOME PHONE!
I traded my sammy a670 for the VX7K and so far i am loving the phone.

+Battery life is pretty good
+Design is eyecatching
+Rotating camera is cool
+Flashing LED lights is neeaatt!
+WAP 2.0
+Video capture is cool
CONS:
-Can't adjust volume of message alerts
-There is no way to change the red menu bars
-Flash on the phone appears to be bright, but the Samsung a670 has a brighter flash..or maybe its just the camera on the phone...
-Picture quality is got as good as samsung a670, but pretty decent.
OVERALL, this phone is grreatt!
i love it so far
telling the truth, i'm not much into cell phone industry and am quite indifferent to new gadgets. however, my brother bought vx7000 for my birthday. i was very happy to have another cell phone, different from my crappy moto t730. the more days pass, the more crazy i become about this phone. i'll tell ya, this phone rox. it's such a cool phone, simply super. i'd recommend this phone to anyone; vx7000 is a perfect phone to upgrade to. i'm impressed with lg electronics.
