WORST PHONE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this has to be the worst phone ever made...shame on you Motorola. where to start:
1) The camera is the worst thing ever and on top of being terrible it stopped working about three months after use with no warning.
2) The speaker volume is probably even worst than the camera. i really don't know what they tried to do with the speaker but it has bass which distorts sounds of mp3's making it sound almost like a recording rather that an mp3. To get around this i had to go through the tedious task of recording the sound in a music mixing program without the bass, saving it, then finally to the phone. STRESS
3) I could probably reach #10 but i will finish up...the phone with no warning one night after about 4 months of use (gentle careful use without any falls, barely any scratches)the phone lost charge and that was the end of that. It never came back on...NEVER!!! I tried sending it to a technician to fix only to hear that the phone has a software problem and it's cheaper to replace it. I live in Trinidad and this phone was purchased in New York without a warranty so that is officially dead money.
I WOULD NOT RECCOMEND THIS PHONE TO ANYONE!!!
worst Motorola ever. Better off with a landline or a phonebooth.
The only thing this phone has going for it is the fact that it is a Motorolla and i still love them for their features...oh yeah one more thing this phone is ridiculously UGLY!!! the huge silver camera is NOT a nice touch AT ALL!!!
motorola v220
this is the crapest phone ive seen, well i brought it in spain as i wanted to send pictures to my boyf and vice versa. but after 3months my boyf camera just blanked, so that sux, also we cud neva get to send picture mesages , anyone kno how i can, i payed 135e and just got the phone and no disk free hands set etc. i hate the side button that keeps beepin in me pocket, even if iv got it on silent.
it scratches easily. my phones not to bad but my boyf just gon cuplonk. im just waitin 4 wen myn is goin to go all wrong. as ive heard from all the ava complaints it shud b soon.
my boyf sent it in to get fixed but came back exactly the same with no answers, so wot do do !
i had a moterola phone b4 which gave me no hassle but this phone has to b the worst iv heard of, dont get it.josse xxx
Don't Buy This Piece of Junk!
The V220 is a decent looking phone and it has some nice features, but it's reliability is a joke. I was happy with my first V220 until the camera quit working and the battery stopped holding a charge. I took it to a Cingular store where I was told that the battery was fine and the wall charger was to blame. So I got a new wall charger and ordered a replacement phone from Cingular.
I wanted a working camera and so far with my second V220 it works fine. Of course, the battery is acting up again and my calls are continually dropped. I also can't seem to get good reception no matter where I am. The speaker quality is lousy as well and the arm that opens and closes the phone still makes that wonderful squeaking noise. I seriously don't want this phone anymore, but right now I'm stuck with it because Cingular refuses to let me upgrade to another model. That's unless I pay a high early termination fee on my 2 year policy agreement.
My experiences with the V220 haven't been enjoyable and it also doesn't help when your service provider has crappy customer service and isn't willing to help you. My advice for any prospective V220 buyer is to avoid this phone and buy something reliable.
wow!!!
this has to be the worst phone you could possibly get. the sound quallity sucks. even the speaker phone isnt loud. all my friends make fun of me for even having one. and especially considering i've had to get 5 diffrent ones casue they keep breaking.

- the camera is absolutely dread full. i cant even take a picture now because the camera blacked out.
-if u drop it....might as well get a new one cause it'll probably have broken cause its so fragile
-i've so many droped calls i cant even count them
- doesnt work near computers cause it messes up for some reason(or at least mine does)
- when u flip to close it and to open it too much it starts creaking and making noises
-the speaker rattles int he back now and u can barely hear
Call quality depends on service provider!
I work in the construction industry and this phone has taken a beating. The one thing that impressed me most was the the phoner lasted more than a year (this is the first phone I've ever had that was still in working order after a full year passed). One of the big complaints about this phone is call quality, this phone sounds great when used on a good network. I took this phone with me to Europe last summer and when I called home with it I got crystal clear reception(on the T-Mobile Network)as if I was using a home phone. Yes the camera is a piece of crap, but the phone has enough fun features that makes it a worthwhile buy.

Well where to begin? I've owned two of these great cell phones. The first one worked for about a month and then the LCD decided it was time to break. Cingular tried to tell me it was due to water damage. ...my phone was never near water... Second they tried telling me it was a common problem known as LCD Bleeding and wouldn't cover it. So i sent it back and got a brand new one for $50 ser charge. it worked up until about November 2005 when the screen would just go blank. and not come back for 2-18 hours.
Pros.

~Fuzzy camera

~Screen blanks for hours on end
~When screen does come back image is fuzzy
~sometimes screen will become glitchy
~1 bar of service(roch, ny) unless i'm in a building where no one else has service. then it's full
~Battery case is broken and didn't stay on in the first place
~Vibrate function barely works. Felt calls maybe 10% of the time
~Poor volume heard calls maybe 80% of the time
~As of right now. Phone cannot be navigated at all using the screen. #'s can't be entered and seen, menu cannot be seen all that shows up is a giant glitched screen. background will tilt and copy about 4 times. sometimes background will turn upsidedown or horizontal and become inverted colors.

~has a USB port...but software costs extra
worst phone ever
thankfully i finally lost this horrible phone and was unable to find it. i promptly went out and bought a nokia, which i should have stuck with in the first place.
about a month after i bought this phone, the personalize menu stopped working. everytime i tried to go to that menu the power to the phone would cut out. eventually it started to happen to other menus on the phone and i could not get either motorola or SunCom to fix the problem. so i was stuck with those annoying menu icons on the screen for time eternal.
i won't even get into the terrible reception that i had with this phone. now i have had other network problems with SunCom and at first i thought that it was their fault, but after a few nokias i realized that it wasn't the network, it was the phone. most of the time my text messages would just sit in the outbox, waiting to be sent but never actually being sent. the phone rarely rang so i didn't even know when people were calling.
Pros:
-um...mp3 ringtones.
Cons:
-camera not even worth using as quality is so poor.
-ringtones very soft and hard to hear even if you're lucky enough to have it actually ring
-cheaply made, could not withstand even minor drops
-alarm clock so complicated to set up it's not worth using
-poor quality speakerphone. constant buzzing sound in background
-menus unnecessarily complicated
-battery will only last a day or maybe a day and a half if you rarely use the phone
-motorola tech support a joke
Buy a nokia. seriously. this phone isn't worth it, even if they offer to give it to you for free.
Eh, could be better
Its not that bad of a phone. I have a few problems though. Im still in high school, and i have gotten my phone taken away soo many times because of those volume buttons on the side, even when its on silent, THEY STILL BEEP! the only way to get it to not beep is to lock your phone which takes waay to long! Also it has low memory, so after 30 pics and 100 text messages you have to go on an erasing spree! Its reception sucks! I'll be driving in the city with 6 bars then i'l take a left adn theres no reception! Its pictures arent that good, its ring tones are bad. And when ever you have on the speakerphone it makes an annoying buzzy sound. Also when ever im texting, i cant save messages to drafts, and the "ok"button is to close to the "end" button. Its small light and compact. But i hate that silver circle on the front! I am thinking about getting the LG F9100 for a change.

ok ok ok... this phone is a cutie, i loved it soo much, but then the camera craped out on me it didn't work.. so i was all upset the the screen was all black, so i got a different phone, (same type ) and the camersa got messed up!!!then my parents suck and they got the same type and the camera dident work and it dident hold a charge, then the next day i got the same phone !! and now 5 months in like the camera isent working So like now im mad because my dad wont return it so like yeah dont get this model like get the razor or some thing... like Motorola has some pretty awsome phones but yeah DONT GET THE V220!!!!

i love it
This is the longest i have ever had a phone. I love it. A lot of people are upset about the quality of the camera but i feel like the size of the phone makes up for that. It is small and convenient. You want better pictures get a bigger phone with more memory. Beside this phone does every thing you NEED a phone to do. It is truly one of the best phones i have ever had.
